Having read other reviews on this property i was quite unsure of what we would find on arrival at Sea Breeze. However I need not have worried. Having booked with Portland Direct we saved a couple of hundred pounds each and despite all that is said about flying BWIA we had no problems. Yes you do have to pay for alcoholic drinks but on an eight hour flight it doesn t quite justify paying hundreds extra for Virgin or BA.

We had a warm welcome on arrival at the hotel and once our bags had been taken to our room, we settled in to the bar and began on the cocktail list...their curumbas are fantastic! Our room was exactly as stated in the brochure. It was a great size with a full kitchenette and was spotlessly clean. We had a great view of the beach and sea and were greatful for the chilled bottle of bubbly waiting for us. The only negative I heard people mention whilst at the hotel is the need for an update. The hotel is beautifully laid out and the gardens and beach are gorgeous. A touch of paint would really lift this property but then again the prices would no doubt rise in accordance. If you re looking for deluxe, this is not for you but if you are happy with good, clean comfortable accomodation then Sea Breeze can not fail to suit. There were quite a few Virgin guests moved to Sea Breeze due to complaints about their original hotels and all of them were happy with this hotel.

The beaches are beautiful. White sand and turquoise sea. Yes the waves can be a little rough but this is the south coast. Beach towels are complimentary and there is a great little beach bar to cool you down because the sun is gloriously hot but as the name suggests there is a constant welcome breeze. There are some non motorized water sports available and jet ski's which are great fun and reasonably priced. I know people complain about the beach vendors. Yes they do offer you just about any drug known to man but you only have to say no and yes the Bajan men do appreciate their women but it's all harmless and if you can take it in your stride you can enjoy daily chats with them and come home with some nice jewellry.

The food was great value. It's well worth going all inclusive. A la carte most nights and barbeques and buffets the other. The mermaid restaurant is great for lunch with a good menu to sift through during your stay and the evening menus were greatly varied. We never saw the same thing advertised twice. If you are a little fussy (as my partner can be) the chef will gladly prepare you something else. Drinks were equally as pleasing. There's a great choice on the all inclusive option and Oscar makes the best rum punch!

The staff were wonderful...a really friendly and hardworking bunch, keen to do all they can to help you enjoy your holiday. Oscar, Junior, Richard, Gloria and Stacia looked after us particularly well and regularly made us laugh. Because the hotel is nice and small you easily get to know the staff and the other guests.

Barbados is a fantastic holiday destination. If you can get in to Bajan time you cannot fail to relax and enjoy the delights of this great little Caribbean island. If you can bear to drag yourself away from the beach it's well worth taking a look around. Oistins on a Friday night, Harrison Caves, the rum distilleries and a trip on a catamaran to snorkle with the turtles on the west coast are all well worth a visit.

Sea Breeze is a great choice. Totally relaxing, with typically friendly Caribbean hospitality and close enough to the gap if you fancy a bit more excitement. You get what you pay for at the end of the day. If i won the lottery i would no doubt enjoy Sandy Lane, but for a very affordable and enjoyable holiday in wonderful Barbados you can't beat Sea Breeze.

We spent our 25years anniversary at this pretty hotel. We wanted something peaceful, relaxing, wonderful weather, excellent food, pretty surroundings, and that is what we got. The holiday was perfect. We spent only one week there which we were happy with, but we would of loved two. We had flowers and champagne when we arrived, which was a nice thought. Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean and one of the pools. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere in the resturant was always perfect for whatever time of day you were dinning. We met some very nice people who all shared the same thoughts as we did. The staff were friendly and pleasant, especially Kev the gardner, the two very young ladies in the resturants (white blouses) and of course the nice lady who made our room a pleasure to go to after a hard day at the beach. We did go on an island tour which we enjoyed seeing all the other hotels Barbados has to offer, but we where glad to get back to the Sea Breeze. We would return to this hotel in the future, it is ideally placed for either peace and quiet, or you can get a taxi to St. Lawrance Gap where there is more entertainment, but it is more busy.

I have just returned from my fifth visit to Barbados, although first time stay at the Sea Breeze Hotel . . I have been fortunate to travel the world extensively and have rarely returned to the same place that is until i fell i love with this beautiful island ! I went with a friend to celebrate my birthday and booked into the Sea Breeze for the second week of our trip . . unfortunately due to a problem at our first accomodation we needed to move and so arrived at the Sea Breeze four days early desperately needing a room . . from the moment we arrived the staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful, and although i love Barbados i must say that i have not come across such a hospitable and friendly place as this . . the property stands in large grounds and so never feels busy even with lots of guests . . our room, the grounds, pools and beaches are perfect ! however the one overiding factor which made our stay so great were the staff . . we would like to say Sea Breeze if you read this review, thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality it was very much appreciated and good luck for your future business, many hotel's could learn alot from the unique service that you provide . . thank you !

I was at the Sea Breeze from July18 - 22, 2005. I had the most wonderful time there. The hotel was above my expecttions and the staff could not have been more accommodating. From the moment I entered the lobby my comfort was of the utmost concern thereby allowing my vacation to begin at that moment. I was taken to my room immediately and allowed to settle in. The room was spacious and very clean. I had a view of the ocean and the pool/patio from my balcony. The cleaning, maintenance, and restaurant staff were very gracious and friendly, I felt right at home there.
The only problem I had with this hotel is that due to the intimate, relaxed, and secluded location, I regreted that I was there alone.

Thank you to all of you for a magnificent stay.

After our trip to the Mayan Riviera was cancelled due to the hurricane, we were re-directed to Barbados. There was no other choice since we only had the week of July 19th off and the only other destination would have been Spain, which we would have loved to go, but needed more time.
Barbados is a beautiful place, no matter where you stay. You can't critisize or rate the beauty it offers. We didn't know what to expectvel . We took a chance and paid the $2000.00 extra!!! and finally go away. I won't say anything negative about the place. I would like to share our observations for the future travellers, because you don't usually read about these in the tour magazines.
**Sea Breeze is a 78 room apartment/condo style setting. Very small. Not busy at all. You will get to recognize the same faces, since everyone eats at the same restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You could even tell which family is having fun and who is not!! that is what you get in a small place. If you need to feel more free or like to try 2-3 different restaurants this is not the place.
**The all inclusive at sea breeze means you can eat anything you like, but you have to order it to the restaurant and they will ask for your room for each order. There are no buffets set like other all inclusive resor during the day.
**There are no entertainment or organized activities during the day. This gives you either a chance to really mingle with your kids and keep them entertained and bond. AT nights, a one person entertainment offers you a couple of hours of songs or music and usually after dinner, around 9:30 p.m. no one would stay around and the entertainer would play all be himself!
**The dog across the road would get up really early in the morning! and BARK away!
**The weed sellers on the beach would try very stratigically to sell! but, they would not really force themselves on you. But they are there. SOme guests had a few words with the managemnet about this. Total number of guests on the beach on average is 12-15.
**Water toys: a couple of old boogie boards, canoes, kayaks. It is a small hotel. Sea-do riders and tubing is available, you have to pay and they don't belong to the hotel.
If you are getting away to have a little action too and for your kids to be entertained with trustworthy staff, this is not the place. This hotel is very quiet. The staff will truely leave you alone. They won't even say hi if you don't want to initiate the conversation. Barbadians are very easy going people, but we learned that they look pretty serious and almost mad, which to some people would mean not welcoming. Get the bar and restauranrt staff some chocolate covered almonds. We saw another friendly side of them. Just a nice gesture, to cheer them up.
Over all, if i wanted to go and relax and be left alone and have good food(dinners were great), i would go back to this place, but if my next trip is about exploring and mingling with people and wanting a little more action, i would choose another resort or another destination. It all comes down to what you want. Also, 90% of the guests at Sea Breeze are English. We met the most wonderful couple there and are palnning to meet again, but on an average if youl ike to get to know people from other countries, choose a differnt resort (reading the trip advisor comments will tell you were people are flying from).
The beach was clean and the sea, blue and clear. Get out and explore the town and get on the island bus with the locals. Yes, the streets are dirty and pot holes every where, but you wil go back home and appreciate what you have! That is why travelling is so great...but think about the money you are spending!! SO, choose carefully!
