“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

My family and I stayed in Barbados for 6 nights and enjoyed the local beaches. We enjoyed swimming, sun bathing, jet skiing, and boat rides.

“Snorkel with the Turtles”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

We took a day trip to Paynes Bay Beach when our ship docked in Barbados for the day. It's about a 15 minute ride from the port. This is a very pretty beach although I'm sure there are nicer beaches on Barbados. There are chairs and umbrellas available for rent as well as a couple of places to buy refreshments.

The highlight is snorkeling with the turtles. It's a pretty good swim out to the area where the turtles hang out but it's worth the swim if you can do it. A lot of catamarans come into the area to swim and feed the turtles and when they are there the turtles get scared and disappear. However, when the boats leave the turtles come out. It was beautiful swimming with them. They come right up to you and check you out. It's pretty cool.

Other then the turtles the snorkeling was just OK. It is a nice beach and I would recommend visiting it. It's a nice way to spend several hours.

“Good swimming area, clean water”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

Good swimming area in front of Treasure Beach hotel. Good reef area and great for snorkelling in front of Tamarind resort, but the swimming area to the right was better and able to swim out to the turtles that are around the pleasure boats that anchor there. A turtle came up on the beach one evening outside Daphne's to lay its eggs and the Scarlett restaurant across the road from Daphne's is a great place to eat.

“Fantastic boat trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

Took a glass bottom boat trip here to swim with turtles. Many colourful fish can be seen over the ship wrecks too. Places of interest are pointed out during the trip. Can highly recommend taking this trip.

“Great beach with lots of coral!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

We came off our cruise and took a tour bus with others who wanted to just go to a beach. First of all Barbados is VERY safe and care about tourism. When we left to go back to ship, we were given a questionaire to fill out at the ship terminal.
Back to the beach, we paid $20 each to go out on a glass bottom boat, well, it was adequate, but boat driver took us out to a shipwreck where we could explore and we saw green turtles and many tropical fish. Snorkels are included with this boat tour. The expression on my daughters face was priceless. I only wish I'd had brought a under-water camera.
We were given 2 hours to explore this beach and the locals were very nice and friendly and respected your space. I asked if I could take a few pieces of coral that had washed up and was told several times "yes, as long as you don't break it off reefs". Nice souvenir to bring back.
The water here is absolutely gorgeous!
