“Good all-around place for families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

This park was close to our hotel in Holetown on the west coast. It has picnic areas, play areas, gymnasium-climbing toys for kids, washrooms, and steps down to the beach. The swimming area was nice- the reef here seemed a bit more damaged (to me at least) than other areas on the west coast (which was sad considering it was a marine park). There is a lifeguard here also.

“Closed and not safe for snorkeling at the moment”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

As others have reported, it's closed right now. However we went at the beginning of April and there was a lifeguard. The buoys had been removed except for one line so there was no protected area. Some tourists had rented jet skis and were carelessly riding all over where the snorkelers and reef were. The lifeguard was unable to do anything about it. Advise staying away until it's all completed.

“Closed Till December 2013”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

Under construction. Closed till Dec 2013. Spoke with local naturalists who described how much the site will be improved when completed. There will be a new boardwalk, improved bathrooms and increased parking. I went to snorkel, but all facilities are closed with a projected re-opening in December of this year

“Good for Snorkelling and Turtle Trips”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013 via mobile

Having visited here in previous years the beach has eroded significantly so this is definitely attraction for better swimmers to snorkel off the shore. We arranged a glass bottomed boat trip to see Turtles from here which children aged from aged 3 absolutely loved with masks snorkels and life jackets provided

“Sea Not As Calm As Expected”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

Visited here twice now on two separate visits to Barbados, however both times have found the water quite rough with the waves making it difficult to snorkel unless you swim quite far out.

Maybe we've just been unlucky but we expected the water to be very calm and this wasn't the case.
