“What a fab holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

I don't think I have enough space to go into detail about this hotel, so in short I will just say, anyone who misses out on going on holiday here will regret it! We had a 2 week holiday here end of November 2013 and I can't say enough good things. But what struck me was that this hotel had repeat visitors year after year and the staff greeted them like old friends that alone says a lot. Location great, food great manicured lawns, clean & friendly staff what else do you need!!! although our room was large and on the top floor the bathroom was tired but I believe these renovations are taking place this year, but this is the only negative I could find. I was very impressed with the free water sport facilities especially the boat rides! And the patience Ross & Charlie have with novices with water skiing is a credit to them. Yep you might guess we have booked to go back in May - we are hoping to be one of those frequent visitors!!!!!

Rooms excellent, but the bathrooms could do with updating. Staff extremely helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food very plentiful and the a la carte menus very good. This was our 3rd visit and the changes so far with the new management are very good. Would be nice to have some umbrellas on the beach and round the pool to shelter from the sun as it is very difficult to find enough shade under the trees. The beach expansion is excellent enabling us to swim in the sea. The evening entertainment could be more varied. The limbo dancer was first class. A most enjoyable holiday, and we hope to return next year.

Accomodation great, staff absolutely smashing all very friendly and helpful. Food fantastic....I'd go back tomorrow.. :-) if I had to criticise I would say that our room was in need of a little decoration and I do mean LITTLE... As I've said I would go back tomorrow and be happy to stay in the same room that said...

Room Tip: Pay the little extra and get the ocean view. Great for sunset views but away from the gardens where...

Stay here after fantastic 1 week Caribbean Cruise which we could not fault. Hotel quite small with only 1 dinning area buffet breakfast not much to offer also buffet lunch which was ok. You had to reserve your evening table at breakfast time who knows what time you want to eat in the evening at that time and it was waiter service so no evening help yourself buffet so we didnt eat in the evening just filled up lunch time. There was Enids Restaurant and Rum Bar upstairs where Caribbean food dishes were served. No beach snack bar only small bar on front. The staff were lovely special thanks to Jade the glass collector a real dude Elvis and Cheryl at the bar and many more can not remember their names did not come across any rude staff all so lovely. They done a nice New Years Eve with very good Gala Dinner the only evening meal we ate lol. Not really any beach in front of beach but walk left front Hotel to lovely beach next door The Sandy Lane Resort very very nice lots of rich and famous stay there while we were there Simon Cowell was staying at his fabulous Property right on the beach and his Yacht moored just off the beach was seen on jet ski coming passed The Club ! and I had my photo taken outside No 1 Sandy Lane his Mansion. We all enjoyed his Fireworks display New Years Eve thanks Simon. Hotel could do with upgrade but we had a lovely time must say our room was beautiful ground floor with large front room with patio and sun chairs bedroom very nice huge comfy bed also big bathroom with separate toilet think we must have had refurbished room . Would we go back probably no but dont let it put you off we still had a good time .

Room Tip: Ground floor with pool and part sea view

Just back from a great week here. Had a ground floor garden room with direct access to well kept gardens, spotless pool and bar and dining areas. We found the food very good.
Although the beach in front of the hotel is small, only 5 mins walk away is a lovely sandy beach where we went snorkelling and safe swimming.
Only tip is if you decide to take the bus anywhere outside the resort, don't take the yellow buses as they are dangerous and overcrowded.
Would definilty return here as the staff are really out to provide good service.

My Wife and I visited this hotel over Christmas and the New Year and we were very impressed with the way the Senior Management were always visual and consistently asking us if there was anything we could recommend to make our stay even better, we also had the opportunity of talking to some of the back room staff at the Managers cocktail party - Elite have certainly put together a wonderful team at this hotel. You have the divisional Director Joerg pronounced York, the General Manager Adrian Grant, mr fixit Nello Byno and Gillian Griffiths, all extremely very helpful people and are definitely there to make sure your holiday is as memorable as it can be. All the other staff in the restaurant, Sophia, Carmella, Kathy-Ann, Marleen, Patricia and Rosaline, who did absolutely everything to make sure that all the staff were 100% effecient and could not do enough to make our dining experience so special. We found the food to be absolutely 1st class and take this opportunity of congratulating the Executive Chef Matthew along with Zico,Sherland and not forgetting Charles all major players in the kitchen along with all of their staff. The food on Christmas day was superb and the Old Years night dinner was definitely 5* fine dining. The room we had was spotless, our housekeeper Hazel could not do enough for us, she was always friendly and always had a smile. We musn't forget watersports, we found Corrie and his team very helpful especially when getting in and out of the boat. I personally would like to thank Corrie for the fishing competition he set up, especially as I won it!!! so a big thank you again. The gardeners are to be congratulated, my Wife and I thought the gardens were magnificent and were kept in pristine condition by an excellent gardening team. We would recommend anybody to go on the trip with Amir, he is extremely knowledgeable of the history of the Island, a very good driver, friendly and helpful in a very professional way, the trip we took with him was one of the best days out that we had over the holiday period and we cannot recommend him enough. The bar staff we felt were extremely helpful and certainly knowledeable with regards to cocktails, with new lists on the bar on a daily basis, my Wife and I could name so many but they all gave us such excellent service it would be unfair to do so. Last but not least we must mention Vimbe one of the restaurant waitresses, she was so helpful, every morning when she was on duty, she brought a lovely pot of tea, always had a smile, always helpful, could not do enough for any of the guests and really always made our day when she was working first thing in the morning. We felt the staff was like a massive family, the other guests were so friendly, we have never been to a hotel that is unique in the friendliness of the staff and guests - incredible. We are looking forward to returning in September.

We went for Christmas and new year. We booked a ocean front suite which was in bad need of a refurbishment, the bed was terrible and the sheets did not fit. The view was lovely but did expect a beach in front of us, this is not a beach. You have to walk to those. Which we did and they are lovely..the pool area needed a face lift to the pool tiles were missing just like pool cleaners..the sunset bar toilets for the ladies was dreadful. The birds pooed all over the seats and got into the restaurant and landed on your glasses, food, and table while you had gone for your average food. The wine was also rubbish, we had to buy from the wine list and pay for it..the breakfasts were the best..on a positive note most of the staff are amazing managers are lovey and friendly alway welcome you it's your name and a smile..we moved rooms after our second week which was slightly better..I would not recommend this old tierd hotel..we went to some fabulous ones on the other side more In the line we was expecting..gorgeous island and people..
