There are no words i can find to describe the house but excellent, from the fresh fruit and ice creams served on the beach and the (to die for rum punches) to the wonderfull afternoon tea.
The decor of the rooms were beautiful i especially loved the pictures and the soft and comfortable beds. The Ambassadors were all wonderfull especially Ashley who took care of us even before we got to the hotel and up to the day we had departed, he had also made some wonderful suggestions for some restaurants which i can higly recommend. The Cliff, Wispers, The Tides, Scarlets, Fishspot and the lonestar.
Overall we had a wonderful time in barbados and we will be back next year.

just back from the house ....
Lovely people and great service .... Loved the atmosphere .
But , if you remove all that , the building look likes a 3 stars hotel ...It was the extension of the coral reef which was transformed in a luxury house ....Bathrooms/bedrooms are still 3 stars only unfortunately ...

Otherwise , loved it for the service ....fantastic people ...very nice .

“Good hotel but not excellent....”

The house hotel is beautiful...specially at night...the lounge area has comfortable chairs and the beach chairs are nice. The rooms are comfortable but extrange baths with one door and the water spills into the bathroom, also noisy toilets...there are a couple of problems to fix...the jacuzzy next to the pool makes a terrible sound which disturbs the tranquil ocean sounds ...also it is not hot...the ambiance is nice...just couples sitting around enjoying the sun and having drinks...the blender was broken so no frozen drinks..the ambassadors are nice and try their best to make you feel comfortable but this area also needs some work. the best part of the hotel is the afternoon tea...the breakfast is mediocre.......the beach area, although semi private, is very small and has a lot of rocks and coral...Overall the hotel has potential, but definately needs some work specially for guest who know better...there is no local food near by...and you need to take a taxi to go anywhere...the food that is available in the island is great, but very expensive even for NY standards. First time in barbados, next time will try Sandy Lane....

“The perfect place to relax and be looked after”

The House is THE place to stay if you want to relax and be looked after in beautiful surroundings.

I was lucky enough to be in a Luxury Ocean View One Bedroom Suite - what a treat! The views from the balconies were magical, but you didn't even have to be out on the balcony to feel serenity. Just being in the bed made you feel as if your every stress just melted away...it was soooo comfortable. I loved the photography in the rooms and throughout the property - I tried to see as many of them as possible.

I did get the opportunity to look at the other room types and I would not have been unhappy in any of them. I was treated with an Ocean View, but the Garden View was very nice.

The staff is really what make this hotel stand out. Everyone was friendly, courteous and couldn't do enough for you. You were left alone if that's what you wanted, but if you wanted a chat, needed info or just wanted a cup of tea they were there to help - and they did with a smile that was natural.

I unfortunately didn't get any spa treatments while I was there, but someone in my group did and raved about it. I guess that's something I get to look forward to next time....and there will be a next time!

My only complaint isn't even a complaint...but a warning: If you do decide to experience some of the local nightlife, do not sit in the lobby for too long before you go out. Between the comfortable chairs, the candle light and the relaxing music - you'll find yourself not wanting to leave.

“Feel at home at The House”

Ooooh, this was our second visit to The House and it lived up to our memories of two years ago and exceeded our expectations for this trip.

This time we spend 10 days at The House and each one was more relaxing than the other. This is the place to come if all you want to do is unwind and relax - the Ambassadors are there when you need them and discreet when you don't!

Each morning I would rise early and take a swim in the sea and a walk along the beach before meeting my wife for a champagne breakfast on the deck looking out to sea.

The day would mostly be spent sunbathing and being served cocktails by the white suited Ambassadors, followed by some snorkelling with the turtles and then perhaps followed by a nap before afternoon tea is served.

Our evenings were spent dining at some of the many outstanding restaurants around the island. The Ambassadors are happy to make your reservation and organise transport.

The accomodation is splendid with comfortable and dreamy beds and bed linen.

The House has a no children policy, I love kids but was pleased to be cocooned away from any children and allowed to relax without any distractions apart from the odd rum and coke or bajan mudlside or glass of champagne.

If you can live with the parade of beach sellers who will leave you after a polite but firm NO then this is the best place on the planet!

Some notable points:

The Ambassadors; Bjorn, Andrew, Kevin, Mark and Kim - thank you so much for making our stay so good.

Restaurants: The Cliff, Whispers, The Fish Pot and The Restaurant at Southsea were all amazing we enjoyed such fabulous food and incredible service.

Slick Rick and his glass bottom boat: this guy took us to swim with the turtles and even jumped in with us to feed them - a real star.

We love this place and will be back.
