“Royal Westmoreland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

When visiting Barbados we stayed with family friends who had just recently moved into Royal Westmoreland. We were astonished by the beauty of the villa, as well as the other facilities on sight. It was very clean, close to Holetown and had plenty of things to do. There were even monkeys who ventured into the backyard daily.

Absolutely top notch golf resort where one is made to feel special from day one. Very well managed from top to bottom, fab club house, fab gym, pool and spa/beach facility, great all round holiday experience. If you are a golfer it is the premier resort on the island and in my opinion the only place to stay, Royal Villa accommodation is a must and reasonable value....... 5 star !

Room Tip: Royal Villas with own pool area are a good option if you have a car, if not go for something nearer...

We had a fab time with friends that stayed in a Royal Villa
The good bits: Very clean and well planned resort. Lots of planting, very safe, really pretty. Accomodation is fab. Communal pools are really large and generally quiet. Good wi fi signal. Taxis are cheap, you dont need a car. Only 10 mins by cab max from Holetown. Had emergency need for dentist and the local one was first class, even opened Easter weekend. We took day trip on catamaran - really good fun. think name was silver cloud - concierge arranged it all including pick up. Gym great.
Mediocre: Mullins Beach Club was so so. Quiet narrow, good watersports payable locally, you get towels, beds etc. Was pretty cramped. Food at beach bar was average at best and expensive. We tended to go for couple of hours only. Well worth taking a boat from beach to see turtles.
In summary the resort is really good. It definitely does not feel like a hotel and you probably miss out on ome Barbados Caribbean feel as it is a bit sterile, however if you like top end hotels and dont fancy paying Sandy Lane prices ( we stayed there last time) i can recommend it.

Please do not stay here or even try to book it because we want to keep it all to ourselves.....you would hate the sedate tranquility and ease of access to all the local haunts......I particularly detest the way the Bajan people are so nice to you and accommodating . Their charm and honesty really does grate after a week or two..........so in SUMMARY please do not come to Barbados as you will hate it and reduce our ability to re-book and suffer more torture next time.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr Hugo Kitchen and family and friends.

Room Tip: Get a private house as the flexibility offers total tranquility . The Sanctuary gym is great every m...

We stayed for 5 nights in a two bed cottage. Walking distance to clubhouse and pool. Gym, pool, breakfast all great and the golf and tennis looked good too. Can get a bit windy but pool is sheltered and has free wireless. Mini bus will take you to beach and spa which are good. Staff are really helpful and we will definitely stay there again. Very good for families/young children.

Room Tip: Cassia heights are the older cottages but great location.

I recently stayed at Royal Westmoreland for my honeymoon and it was Amazing so wanted to let everyone know :)
The bookings team in the UK could not help me enough from start to finish with booking requests, flights with Virgin and Obviously, most important, to make sure there was a nice cold bottle of Banks beer waiting for us in the fridge when we got there!!! We managed to get a fantastic offer and looking to book for this Summer with friends as there is still availability!

The accommodation ( Celebrity Villa ) is top class far better than the villa my “friend” had booked privately, our location was better and standard much better. Most importantly my husband is a golfer and to have golf included as well as discounts on Food and spa is brilliant.

Lastly just wanted to mention the concierge on resort, they really are brilliant - My husband had to have a tooth out and they were so helpful booking a appointment with a reputable dentist and even drawing a map! (I must mention you have NO access to concierge if you book privately (although some advertise they do!) ).

All in all a Amazing honeymoon and cant wait to go back :)

Room Tip: I would highly recomend any of the Celebrity ( Exclusive ) Villas - Any of the Royal Villas are gorg...

We've been to Barbados before and always stayed in All Inclusive hotels so this was a bit of a change. We found our Villa directly and saved ourselves about £3,000! Lovely Villa right next to the golf clubhouse and the gym suited us perfectly. We had two rounds of golf included in the price of our stay, but you can use the excellent practice facilities any time - so it was just perfect for us. We went to the private beach area on two or three occassions which was fine - although it's right on the road. Ventured out in the car on other days and found other beaches on the east side. Eating out was very expensive - we've been sheltered by the all inclusives in the past - so take advantage of the maid service. Our Beverny was a really great cook - meaning we ate real baradian cuisine, which is what we wanted anyway. We'd certainly go back if we were in a group and golfing, but might stick to hotels as a couple in terms of value for money.

Room Tip: Try booking direct with owners for a good deal
