“Time for Turtles!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

The sea turtles are a highlight of our trips to Barbados. They swim just a quick swim from Treasure Beach, and you can almost set your watch for when they’ll be there. They laze around, nibbling fish handouts, gliding beneath you.

They’re a dependable highlight, just like Treasure Beach. We’ve been visiting for several years and even though we’ve looked at other places to stay, none of them provide the combination of location, friendliness, comfortable rooms, and food the way Treasure Beach does.

We use it as a base for exploring the island – we rent a jeep and cut north, south and across the island, through the miles of sugar cane to the rugged north and east coasts, or to the more populated south coast and Bridgetown, lively on Saturday shopping days. There’s a lot of satisfaction when we pull back into TB’s parking lot, pass through the breezy entry way, order a cool drink and say, “Ahhhhh….”

The Manager’s Welcome Party is something we always look forward to. Jason Patterson is as warm as ever and he and the rest of the TB staff see to our every need without ever seeming intrusive. The other TB guests become people with names and stories – not just familiar faces at meals – and we’ve made some great friends. They’re well-traveled and can stay wherever they wish (and they have, including TB’s large next door neighbor). Year after year, they come back to Treasure Beach.

We continue to try different restaurants around the island, but keep coming back with “It’s really better at Treasure Beach…” It’s the same with the beaches. The swimming’s better just 50 feet away.

And there are these turtles….

Room Tip: Ocean front or ocean view -- they're all good

Better late than never on our latest holiday to Treasure Beach! We went at the beginning of May and had the best weather yet. This was our 3rd visit after missing 2013, it was like we had never been away. I have had to think long and hard with regard to my review as I don't want to repeat all the superlatives I have used before.

On reflection of our visit there are a few niggles BUT there are far too many positives to out way them. Plus if it was absolute perfection it would be clinical and not the Caribbean.

Jason and all his staff are as good as ever. All the guests, repeat or new, appear to be like minded and mix very well but really thinking about the reason this hotel is so special is the privacy and quietness of the rooms. In our three visits we have never heard anyone from rooms either side, upstairs or down, also the position of the balconies makes it impossible to see any of your neighbours.

If you are going to T.B try and go to Holders Sunday market (see separate report) it is only up the hill and reception can advise you regarding walking or taxi.

Looking forward to our next visit.

We stayed at the Treasure Beach for 10 days at the beginning of June 2014.
We have stayed at several hotels on the island and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this small hotel, a little gem on the west coast.
Jason and his staff were friendly and extremely helpful,
a good mix of ages staying at the hotel, and an excellent location right on the beach.

20 paces to the beach and the 7am swim in warm water .... Good room ..... Good food ..... Good staff ..... Good location ..... Scrub the "goods" it was actually Great on all counts. The wee crabs on the beach were funny. The tree frogs at night sing you to sleep. The cocktails at the bar ensure you're relaxed. We are saving up for a return visit. Soooooon !

We have just returned from Paradise!!.... alias Treasure Beach. Perfect location on the edge of pristine Paynes Bay. The property is spotless and the staff are fantastic. Helen on the reception was really great, booking us in the various restaurants in the area organising transport for us. We mixed dining up a little ,but the food in the hotel was excellent, great breakfast, and afternoon tea was a little treat. Our room was spacious with a lovely big comfy bed and great size bathroom with twin sinks, a bath long enough to lie in and big shower plus lots of clean fluffy towels always available. Jason Patterson the manager was on hand throughout the day and always made time to chat with his guests which is a nice touch. We had a back massage in the wonderful little spa and I can quite happily say its the best I've had anywhere in the world!!!.
This hotel is a real gem, but if you are a party animal and you enjoy lots of entertainment loud music and a hectic bar scene, then this place probably isn't for you...... However I can't wait to get back. Thank you Treasure Beach.

Treasure Beach is set in the perfect location. A stone's throw (and I can't throw far) from the sandy beach of Paynes Bay, approximately 45 minutes from Oistins (go there on a Friday night for local food and a carnival atmosphere), approximately 20 minutes from Bridgetown and 10 minutes from Holetown. All of the rooms in the hotel have beautiful views, either of the gardens (set a little further back from the pool), of the pool itself and the beach.

The staff at Treasure Beach are what make the hotel stand out. They are friendly and extremely helpful. I cannot praise them enough. Each morning sun loungers will be set out on the lawn or the beach depending upon your preference. You will be offered fresh fruit kebabs, frozen flannels to cool you down and water during the day. Afternoon tea is served between 4pm and 5pm, although the sandwiches could be improved, the cakes were homemade and delicious. The quality of the food is good, although the selection may become a little repetitive if you're staying any longer than a week. Breakfast consists of a buffet of fruit, cereals and pastries and you can order from the kitchen. Lunch and dinner portions are excellent. The Rum Sour cocktails are not to be missed.

The bedrooms are a good size, with living area, very small kitchenette (unit, sink and fridge) and balcony. The bathroom had a separate bath and shower, with a large shower cubicle and double sinks. The décor is colonial and tasteful. Some aspects could do with freshening up, but only through a little wear and tear. The cleanliness is very good.

If I ever return to Barbados, I would be more than happy to stay at Treasure Beach again.

I have just returned from an amazing holiday in Barbados and Treasure Beach is largely what made it so memorable. The staff are truly amazing and nothing is too much trouble. Leeroy, Kevin, Karl and Wayne to name a few of the employees really take care of their guests and make you feel very welcome at this hotel. I travel alot and this was five star service. Food excellent as well as the fantastic location right on the beach of Paynes Bay.

Rooms do need a bit of a revamp to be on par with their suites . Also, more of an atmosphere needed in the restaurant in the evenings and they should promote their restaurant with its excellent food, service and location.

Can not wait to visit next year!
