“Romantic getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2008

Treasure beach Hotel is set on the beach at Paynes bay on the west coast of Barbados, found the whole vacation a wonderful experience, the staff at TB are all wonderful right down to the Housekeeping, Hamish the manager keeps everyone on their toes and makes sure everything is done right. I thought the rooms were small but adequate, little dissapointed that we only had two single beds pushed together rather than a King size bed, but I didnt go to Barbados to sleep, overall found it a very expensive island since it is supported by tourists, food is very expensive cheapest meal I had was $150 for two.

The Hotel TB is clean and very well run, all the staff are more than helpful and nothing is too much trouble. would recommend for aromantic getaway.

It really is a piece of paradise. I had the most incredible stay there and would recommend it to anyone. Friendly atmosphere, beautiful setting beside the beach, great food, great rooms and it is very clean! It also has its own privacy and it isn't big and commercial . It is a must if you are visiting Barbados.

I stayed there for a week with some friends from uni and had an amazing time. It was one of the most beautiful places ive ever stayed and I would go back there in a heartbeat. The service was incredible and the staff were a great laugh and had banter with them. I loved it.

Stayed here for a few days 19th - 23rd June. The hotel is very friendly, the staff very accomodating and the rooms just fine. The pool and beach are clean, the food excellent ( but a bit overpriced ).

As others have said, it's not a hotel for children and it could do with a lick of paint in places.

Other than that, I'd happily return..

Just bring Michael ( behind the bar ) a rose cutting and he'll be your friend for life ! :)

Enjoy

We had an amazing two night stay in this hotel last week. A beautiful hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff (particularly Hamish, the manager, who was always checking that everything was ok.)

The location is excellent, on a quiet stretch of Paynes Bay, just 5 mins from Sandy Lane.

The rooms have been re-done, they are spacious, with very large bathrooms, with plenty of towels and luxurious toiletries. There is also a lounge leading onto a patio or balcony. We stayed in a garden suite and it was great.

There was plenty of sunloungers for everyone, and a beach attendant on duty all day, who lent us snorkelling equipment and was helpful. Cold towels and fruit kebabs were offered round every morning.

I believe some earlier reviews may have been a bit negative because prices are higher in the high season - for under 200$ a night, this was a luxury hotel.

it was very peaceful, not really designed for children, with beautifully landscaped lush gardens.

Didn't eat in the restaurant, so can't comment on that, but every evening they lit torches and candles round the restaurant and garden, so it looked really beautiful.

Would highly recommend.

I stayed at the Treasure Beach as a solo traveller and found this to be a small, charming hotel, ideally located in the west coast. The rooms are well appointed set around an attractive garden, with a spacious living room, luxurious bedroom and bathroom.

The staff are friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Overall, the service provided was excellent. Hamish Watson, the manager of the hotel is a wonderful host who ensured his guests were well catered for and only to happy to provide helpful advice and information on the island to maximise your enjoyment of the holiday.

As a solo traveller I cannot recommend this hotel enough, there were no supplement charges on the room (a frustration for many solo travellers) and in fact, much personal thought and consideration was given by the staff to make sure my stay was enjoyable.

A wonderful place to stay.

After careful research, I chose this hotel for my husband and I to stay in - booking about 10 months in advance. I chose TB as we wanted a small hotel in a good location on the west coast, and we wanted to use it as somewhere to relax in the daytime, with the opportunity of eating out at some of the great restaurants BDS has to offer in the evenings.

We booked a garden suite, for two weeks, one week B&B and one week half board, we confirmed before we went we could mix and match half board B&B days as we pleased.

We found our room to be perfect, a caribbean style lounge area with fridge/kettle/toaster - with french doors onto a balcony. The bedroom was ideal, a comfy bed, coral stone walls, flat screen tele etc with a great bathroom - double sinks large shower etc - all the usual amenities. (As previously mentioned a trivial but irritating problem is the wardrobe doors - nightmare to open and shut!). The rooms were cleaned to an exceptional standard all the two weeks we were there - with loads of fresh towels/toiletries etc - great.

The hotel is small, and set in a horseshoe shape. This makes for a lovely feel about the place - kind of cosy and relaxed - guests and staff are very social - and we found ourselves talking to guests every day - at the bar, by pool etc.

The staff are fabulous - and I really cannot understand how anyone could say otherwise - we found service to be excellent - from the hotel manager - Hamish - he is always zipping about the place checking everyone is content ,to restaurant and beach staff etc. Reception always willing to help with any probs/enquiries.

The beach, although quite narrow - is just lovely. The beach attendant would set up beds and umbrella's each day on beach and the grassed bathing area - and not once during our 14 day stay did we have a problem getting bed or sunshade. Cold towels fruit kebabs each morning delivered to your sunbed.

Breakfast was very good - with all the usual selection - bacon eggs fruit yoghurts etc. Endless coffee and toast provided if necessary. Afternoon tea is an added bonus at 4pm.

Evening meals were average to good - sometimes better than others. The restaurant could sometimes be a little quiet in the evenings - therefore lacking some atmosphere. The bar is relaxed and quiet - the barman Richard a perfect gent! The managers cocktail party is a nice evening - with bbq to follow -a good opportunity to chat to fellow guests also.

We ate many wonderful meals out - please see my trip report on forum if interested.

In summary, we found TB to be a friendly, caribbean style small hotel, in a great location on a beautiful island. We received great service, and had a fab time, an added bonus was making great new friends!

Would we return - defo!
