We really enjoyed our week at this well-run small hotel. It is in Holetown - which is nicer than it sounds.
The rooms are spacious and well appointed. We changed from the first one we were given as the entire balcony faced a big tree (or was it a Triffid?) and so there was no view of anything but leaves and the occasional humming bird. The replacement was fine, with a small balcony over looking the pool area and the sea.
The hotel is right on the beach, which although narrow at high tide, is fine for the small number of guests this hotel accommodates. And a really good point is that you can walk for a few miles along the beach (and sometimes beach path) to get some exercise.
All staff were excellent - charming and courteous - and chatty, if you wanted them to be. The food was truly excellent. Most evenings it was waiter/ress service and the meals were very well presented. The quantities were not large - but we were grateful for that as the waistlines seemed to be expanding anyway. We like to eat late - so we much prefer this to a buffet after most people had already been at it.
Our wine glasses were always topped up (regular tipping helps).
Bar service was usually speedy, too.
There are some shops and restaurants in Holetown, and a big Sunday night get together for locals. The music is very loud - and so our we thought we may as well join in.
One the negative side: The hotel is next to one of the many storm channels in the area, and the water had become very fetid. This caused some occasional odour when you are close to it - but never bothered us where we were in the hotel. It must also encourage mosquitoes - so take the nuclear strength deterrent.
We were also amazed that there was a satellite dish on the roof above our room that was so big it seemed to be searching for the source of the Big Bang, yet we only got four TV channels - which even then were only occasionally watchable due to weather interference. You'll need some books!.
If you like compact hotels at a reasonable price you will not be disppointed. This one is on our 'go back to' list.
