My wife and I are just back from a 10 day break in Barbados. This is our 3rd visit to the Royal Pavillion in the last 3 years, and as usual was faultless. I think for the view alone from the room, its worth every penny with every room having a fantastic sea view, something which I think Sandy Lane would have a problem competing with. The staff are friendly, and never pass you without saying hello. There are nice touches as well, such as the bottle of champagne in the room on arrival, and they also invited my wife and I along to the local Polo final as guests of the hotel, which was a really enjoyable afternoon. A special mention should be made about Odvin Jordan, one of the waiters in the Bar and resturaunt, he has a great host, and all round good guy!.

We didn't eat much in the hotel, but choose to go out most nights, mostly in to Hole town, Angry Annies, Spago etc, also visited Lone Star, L'acajou, and Groots (very good). For a great dinning experience, you should push the boat out and vist the Cliff at least once on your holiday, amazing setting where you can eat and watch the turtles and rays swim around.

As usual a great break in a special hotel....looking forward to next time!

we are off to hotel again this year.We had an amazing time. we had downstairs room which is great as you can step over low wall straight onto gorgeous beach .The rooms are lovely and airy and all have french windows overlooking sea.Wendell the concierge is so helpful and will do his utmost to fulfil any request. We loved the breakfast as there was so much choice. Ate out every night but one. Visit the restaraunt at Southsea if you get chance (about 30 mins away) magical place with great food. Mind you all food was excellent The Cliff amazing, Lonestar worth a trip its only next door! Was not too impressed with service at Tides but they were very busy.My husband enjoyed complementary water ski ing nearly every day. Also loads of jet skis to rent. Beach sellers on the whole ok, just be firm and they will move on. Can Not wait to return.

We have just returned from a stay at the Royal Pavilion and loved it.

Stayed in a beachfront room (cracking view) with a king size bed. The room was bright and clean, bed very comfortable and the room came equipped with a TV and DVD player. Bathroom good size, nicely done in marble with both a shower and a bath. We also had a large deck complete with lounge chairs and table.

Food at Palm Terrace was very good - an open air restaurant right on the beach, nice food and décor. Service is very friendly and great to hear the waves crashing in the background whilst you eat! Loved getting up in the morning for a waterski before breakfast too - I did this most mornings.

My wife and I took lovely walks along the beach in both directions, great restaurant right by the hotel called LoneStar which we ate at twice. We also recommend the Cliff, but book in advance!

This hotel is not cheap of course, and it is worth noting for spa lovers that there isn't one, but relaxing on the beach made up for this for us!

Over all we loved Barbados - we enjoy the Caribbean islands and this is one of our favourites.

“Overall Good stay”

Fairmont Royal Pavilion

Fairmount

Good Value, as a holiday maker we always find something generaly to complain about, Our stay at this hotel was it has to be said very good.

Picking up on other trip advisors comments , yes the ground floor room did smell a little dank but could not work out why. I would go for top floor room its only short walk to the beach down a flight of stairs. Beach position good.

The majority of the staff tried very hard and Jill made sure and did her best to accomidate us on everything from dinner bookings to car and driver hire to look around the island.

Harrison caves and north of the island a must and didnt work out much more than using organised trips.

Hotel clean and afternoon tea a joy, food good the exception being the hotel restaurant truly excellant, and while service a little slow, somtimes everybody though somebody was doing it, and somebody thought everybody was doing it. when in fact nobody was.
Dinner was truly very good, a lot more pleasent and cheaper than Tides , which we found a exspensive disaster the manager did appologise as it was a sort of one of and would we go back, would not risk it, very exspensive one of in my book.

One very very big complaint the hotel satff are links in a chain only as good as the weakest link, and there hard work was let down by an aggresive and vocal beach attendant who was both patronising, shrugging shoulders( I havent finished laying the chairs out dont go sitting on them until I have finished more stomping around shrugging shoulders hands out streched)

Not what he said more the way he said it, the staff will know who he is so no name, very very rude to paying guests.Thats why we give fiarbanks Royal 4 and not 5 it was close, but this sort of
behaviour is unforgivable.

We would go back, but next time would ask to see the manager and not complain when we got home. Lovely island nice hotel.

Top restaurant the Cliff but book early.
