“5 days in paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

My husband and I returned from a wonderful, relaxing stay at the Crystal Cove. We knew we wanted to go to Barbados and spent a lot of time researching and reviewing different properties and different areas. I think we hit the jackpot with Crystal Cove. We were there for just 5 days and found it to be just what we hoped it would be. First off, the west coast of the island is beautiful. We didn't venture anywhere else, but the beach at Crystal Cove was stunning. There were always plenty of loungers on the beach. The pools (there are 3) are small, but perfect and refreshing. The one pool has a swim up (Cave Bar) which was great to sit at and enjoy a drink. Our hotel room, which was a garden view, was on the small side and could use a little TLC, but we spent very little time in the room. We inquired about an upgrade, but it seemed quite expensive to do so and plus we'd already settled in. There is a mini bar in the room, which is empty! It would be wonderful if the hotel could stock it with some drinks as it is an all inclusive property. The two dining options are Reflections and Drifters. We found both places to have wonderful food. Always a chicken, fish, pork and vegetarian option. The portions are a lovely size and the staff made mention on multiple occasion that substitutions would be made no problem. They were extremely accommodating in this regard. The evening entertainment was enjoyable and ended at a reasonable hour, which we appreciated. Drinks and snacks were served daily on the beach as well as afternoon tea at Drifters. A very nice touch. We were celebrating an anniversary and the hotel went the extra mile to recognize this and we were touched by the thoughtfulness. The manager, Olivia, was very approachable and I feel that under her leadership this property will continue to thrive. Overall Barbados was a wonderful escape for us! One that I would highly recommend. Thank you Crystal Cove!

Crystal Cove went above and beyond to make our honeymoon extra special! The resort if SPOTLESS and the staff are wonderful! Not one staff member passed by without a smile or a "how are you today? Can I get you anything?"...I have to admit that I am a very picky traveller and there's not one single thing I'd have changed about this resort...They've truly made our honeymoon perfect!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 320 which is a standard ocean view room and it is literally right on top of the oc...

if you are expecting 4.5 stars or luxury then you need to search again, I'm really surprised and disappointed that Virgin put there name against this hotel ! We are just on our way home from spending a week in crystal cove , the hotel is tired , lacks luxury, you don't even get a mini bar unless you pay extra...... Not sure how that works in a 4.5 star hotel ! Food is basic with only 2 places to eat, the cave bar is the only real bar so if it rains there is nowhere to go,the staff didn't even wipe the seats when it stopped raining ! The seating outside is falling apart so not a comfy place anyway, The spa is only open 2 mornings a week so no pampering either. Our room had tiles falling off,the taps were coming off the wall and the air con unit was dripping and made a constant noise ! We wanted to change hotels after just 2 nights, we felt that we were in butlins with some of the clients ! We are no snobs but we wanted a luxury holiday with good food and drink , what we got was a 3 star basic hotel ! Most of the staff were friendly and the manager Sophia moved us to a better room however she couldn't change the fact this is not a 4.5 star hotel ! Would we go back to Barbados - yes we would but we would have to look for a better class of hotel ! The hotel needs a serious upgrade its in a fantastic location and could do so much more for their clients ! This is not a dig at the management team in the hotel as this is out of their control!

We have just got back after spending 10 nights at this lovely hotel. Our room was very nice clean and comfortable. We had a garden view. The grounds were kept really neat and tidy by all of the hard working staff.

We had concerns about there being only two restaurants, but we found ourselves alternating between Reflections and Drifters for both lunch and our evening meals. The menus at both always changed and gave an excellent choice.

Breakfast was also good but we would like to give some constructive feedback. There should be more toasters available as there always seemed to be a long queue.

We would especially like to thank Stephen who brings drinks and snacks to the beach at just the right time. All of the staff work extremely hard and made our stay very enjoyable and memorable.

Thank you to everyone at Crystal Cove we will definitely be coming back to stay in the future. Ruth & Simon

This is a very good hotel that could be a great one. Olivia the manager might just be the person to make that transformation. The location is great with a lovely beach that is not full of hawkers and where there is no need to fight over loungers as there are plenty.
The staff in general are friendly and helpfull. Dorothy the garden, anton the young chef and Dolorus and Sheldon on the bar team show how customer care should be done. A few others particularly at breakfast have yet to complete their charm training
The food is good, sometimes very good but never great. The Reflections restaurant is a sauna and is the hotel biggest Achilles heel. Please air conditioning it as soon as possible. Breakfast needs a bit of an excitement injection. Those staying two weeks like me may well find it monotonous .
The rooms are fine but not over large by American standards. Ours was well decorated but some in need of refurbishment. We had a sea view which was nice but be warned not all sea views are equally good.
We visited a few attractions. Would certainly highly recommend Hunte Gardens and enjoyed St. Nicholas Abbeyand Sundbury Plantations. Think long and hard about Oistins. A friend described it as noises poor quality fish and chips.
Would we come back. Probably if we got a good deal but only for a week or ten days at the most.

With a cold rum punch waiting for you on arrival, the welcome reception team sat us down with a cold drink and good news; as we were a repeat Elegant hotel traveller, we were upgraded to a beautiful one bedroom suite. With our bags already waiting for us in the suite, we saw a separate lounge with sofa bed and stocked mini bar, two full bathrooms and a large bedroom. The lounge and bedroom had specular views over the Carribean sea.

The hospitality shown from all the members of staff seem warm and genuine, making our stay here even more pleasurable. Food has great attention to detail and as a strict vegetarian I am not struggling to find food suitable.

The beach is clean and feels safe and does not have as many beach vendors as its sister hotel, Turtle Beach. I am still here in Crystal Cove writing this review, the sun is setting on a perfect day with my own piece of paradise

Room Tip: High floor, facing the sea. Room 241

I stayed here with 2 friends , it was our second visit and we will definitely be returning next year! As always great service! Our travel agent mucked up our booking, which meant the rooms we had requested had not been booked, however the wonderful manager on the day Jo-Ann sorted it out for us and we were more than pleased with the new upgraded room she sorted out for us. Staff are very friendly and always ensure you have everything you need. Food was great and plenty of it as well as great cocktails, spirits and wine! Don't miss snorkelling with the turtles! We look forward or returning next year!
