“Great food and superb value for money.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2012

My wife and I called in here one night. We fancied a change from the more 'upmarket' restaurants (or ones that really overcharge) and my god we got a pleasant surprise.

Catch of the day was kingfish, served with a side of your choice and veggies. I opted for rice on the side. I can honestly say this meal was far nicer than the kingfish and rice I had the night before at Pisces. Add to that it was twice the size and half the price it offers outstanding value for money.

This was a pig out day and we tried both the chocolate cake and apple crumble desserts. Both are home made and again absolutely lively and outstanding value for money.

“Beware the moving happy hour, it can become expensive!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2012

Jobu's is a typical sports bar near the beach in St Lawrfence Gap with two or three large screens showing football games accompanied by hordes of terrace people shouting for their team. Not too many fights we are told. On our Sunday morning stroll, we decided on some holiday decadence and tried a plate of fries and a couple of beers. The chalk board showed 'Happy Hour 11:00 am to noon". Asked if this was true and the young man told us it was. Upon requesting our second beer a bit later, we were given the bill and told this was not happy hour and lo and behold, the board had been changed to "Happy Hour 12:00 to 1:00" Another couple at the next table had the same misfortune. By the way, the fries were soggy and pretty sparse for this kind of place. To top it off, we all know the local beer, Banks, is $3 Bajun but here it was $5.50 although it was $3 on the chalk board on arrival.
So the moral of the story is to avoid this place unless you like moving Happy Hours, soggy fries, lots of noise and you have more money than brains!
And when we remonstrated, the man in charge basically told my wife to **** off. Mark, the owner, need to take charge!! Not a pleasant experince.

“Nice open restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2012

We ate at Jobu's on our last day. We really wished we had tried it earlier during our stay. We absolutly enjoyed the restaurant. We had four adults in our party. All the food was great. Prices were good. The waitstaff were very nice and polite. Don't wait as long as we did to try this place!

“Excellent value for money!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2012

Great food at excellent prices , service with a smile and every sport you could want on TV's everywhere!! There is a choice of seating - inside in the A/C or outside on the patio - which is definitely more popular! Very reminiscent of Boomer's in it's day!!!
