“Bajan experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2012

This restaurant is pretty popular for its bajan food. As for many restaurants in Barbados, you have a buffet arrangement, or at least the day I was there. I was not impressed neither by the service, nor by the food, but it's worthy trying once to get a better understanding of the local culture.

“Delicious classic food with a Bajan twist.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012

I believe that this restaurant, just off the main road into Bridgetown near The Hilton Hotel, has recently re-opened after a fire. It's built on the site of, and in the style of, an old plantation house.
Four of us had a super meal here and would definitely hope to go again. There was plenty of choice on the menu and we had four different main courses, which gave us the chance to try a variety. Our choices were all fish-based and all delicious, as were the cocktails and the starters we had first.
You don't get a beachside or sea view, but the inside is pleasantly decorated with plenty of plants and comfortable seating and broken up into small areas so it didn't feel too large a space; we weren't disturbed by the presence of a nearby wedding party.
Service was a good mix of efficiency and friendliness.
The meal, with cocktails, three courses, wine, coffees and service came to about £40.00 a head and was probably the best meal of our holiday.

“VERY sloooooooooow service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

Staying at the Hilton made this the closest restaurant to our hotel so we ventured out to try this local Bajan cuisine. We showed up without a reservation (reservation highly suggested) and were seated after about 10-15 minutes. We waited at the bar, where the "bartender" wasn't very friendly.

The appetizer we wanted-crabcake, unavailable, so we had the coconut shrimp, which were very good. I ordered the Broiled Pepper Chicken which was spicy and very good and would have been even better if my mouth wasn't on fire because no one would refill my water glass. From the time we arrived at this place to the time we left it took over 90 minutes- and it wasn't even that buys by the time we were seated.

Our server wasn't very friendly until we were about to leave, while another table's server was so engaging and interested in her customers. The food was good, but waiting and waiting and waiting for things like bread to come out or even your drinks is a little out of line, especially when the place comes highly reccomended. I would give a "Very Good" rating, but the unexplained time it took was just too long.

“Over Rated”

The food has been going down hill since the original owner passed away. Do not waste your money. Too expensive. Spend your money at Cin Cin and The Tides.
