“Exceptional Resort !!”

Grand Barbados Beach Resort

We arrived at the Grand because our flight was cancelled. We were staying at the Hilton before and what a pleasant surprise. The view of Carlisle Bay from the Grand Barbados is much better than the Hilton, their rooms are bigger and the beach is out of this World !! The calm waters at the Grand's beach was really soothing given our flight cancellation experience. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. Best of all...The Grand is on one of the best beaches in Barbados and I think it's the only Resort on that beach. Highly recommend! Thanks BA!

“beautiful beach location”

The wow factor of ariving here at night and realising how close tto the beach we were was brilliant. Seeing the beach in the daylight was even better. I think this is the best beach in Barbados. We went as a group of 22 for a wedding at the Hilton and I think the Grand tops the Hilton for location and beach.Although our room was in need of updating it was spotlessly clean and kept that way by the staff. Drinks at the hotel bar were expensive - take the 5 minute walk to the Hilton for Happy Hour! We did have a problem with our toilet blocking but the staff were very prompt in dealing with it. Take the time to read up about Barbados and you will realise that the infastructure of the country is still developing and take that into consideration when staying there.
The best experience was sitting on the beach during the night with a few beers and watching the racehorses being taken for a swim. Fabulous!

“One of the worst hotels in Barbados”

Grand Barbados Beach Resort

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during Xmas 2007, after staying at Dover Beach for 8 nights. The reason for my transfer was the proximity of Carlisle Bay, which has calm waters for enjoying swimming. The only positive thing I can say about the hotel, is the nice sandy beach. There was virtually no hot water in my room, and I had to complain rather vigorously to be changed after the first night. It took 6 tries to locate a room on one floor that had any hot water whatsoever. The staff acted as if it was not a requirement in Barbados, and I should be satisfied with cool water to shower with. The restaurant is extremely overpriced, and the food was cold, the service even worse. The rooms are tired and drab looking. More of a concern is many of the wooden doors to the rooms were splintered, appearing as if break-ins were attempted. The bed linens were very old, blanket even older and there was a stench in the elevators the entire 3 days I was there. Overall, the hotel is a dump, and most Bajans avoid it like the plague. I would never recommend it to anyone.

Best Beach in Barbados! I really enjoyed my vacation in Barbados and would highly recommend the Grand Barbados Beach Resort. Our Travel Agent recommended the Resort and had several other happy customers. For location it's the best! We walked to just about everything. For excellent nightlife St.Lawrence Gap was a 5 min. taxi drive and the hotel staff were very helpful. The place looked brand new and we got a complimentary upgrade to a beachfront room. Rooms are 5*'s marble floors, granite bathrooms...real nice especially for the great rate we got. Try SunTanning on their Victorian Pier...its a nice photo.

“Beautiful Beach and Pier”

Grand Barbados Beach Resort

This was our third trip to Barbados. We stayed at the Accra last time but found the service very poor and the rooms looked tired. Our T/Agent recommended Grand Barbados as a 4* resort on a beautiful beach. We were very pleased with the friendly reception at the Hotel and their new entrance is a work of art with two huge granite waterfalls on either side of their lobby entrance.
We loved the central location to Bridgetown and St. Lawrence Gap and especially the private setting of their beach.
We thought the food was excellent, though the menu should have included lobster.
Ask for an upgrade if available, the views over Carlisle Bay at Sunset are worth the stay. Rooms are newly renovated - spacious with Italian marble floors and Granite bathrooms.
We found it great value. Loved their special Planter's rum cocktail!
