The Barbados Jewish community dates back hundreds of years. A decade or so ago the Synagogue was in disrepair but the conscious efforts of a member of the community and others have turned this into a great attraction. One can visit the Synagogue and graveyard. There is also a newly built museum and Mikvah on the property, that one can enter for a fee. The manager is very friendly and they have invested a great deal in making the museum very nice. It shows remnants that they found at the site and explains the history of the varying waves of Jewish immigrants to the island.
