I have gone to Barbados on 2 occasions and ready to go again in July. I don't even know where to begin!
The FOOD is SCRUMPTOUS! They LOVE chicken, and when you go you MUST go to Oistins, and try their Rotis! Their seafood is out of this world! The weather! Its always hot! I went in Dec, and forgot it was winter/Christmas, and again in Feb/March and it was the same. It's very comfortable. The people! The most friendliest, laid back, fun people I have ever met. I LOVE them. The hospitality is top notch and they go out of their way to accommodate you.
The nightlife! Sooo many places to dance, to hang out, there is an abundance of things to do so you never get bored.
The Shore Excursions - Too many to remember. Oistins, Harrisons' Cave, Island Safari, Atlantis Submarine, Time Out, Plantations...and there is still MORE that I will do when I do back this time...like their crop over/Kadooment.
The Accommodations are top notch also! Their #1 thing is tourism so everyplace goes out of their way to make you comfortable. So far I've stayed at Amaryllis Resort and the second time I did a home stay. This time I'm doing a combo of a home-stay and Guesthouse at the Bajan Flamingo. I will give separate reviews on each.
The beaches are beautiful but to my disbelief I was so busy with business I did not get a chance to enjoy the beach. I went once the first time (see photo) and their sand is fine...like soft brown sugar.
I know this is all crammed into one review, but in short this island needs to be seen. It's like it's Caribbean's best kept secret. I love it so much I want to buy a home there...I feel I have extended family. They will also hold a special place with me.
Barbados gets my vote on the best of the islands and I've been to Bahamas.
