This is a little late in writing but felt that in these difficult times, recession and all, that this hotel needs some positive comments.
We have been visiting since 2005 and the location is absolutely superb, staff professional and courteous at all times. They are pleasant, warm and will do whatever is required in order to make you feel important.
The rooms are very colonial and whilst not ultra modern in todays expectations, they are perfect for the setting somehow.
The standard of food is very high and the chefs are very talented in their presentation.
If it is peace and quiet that you want, then this is the hotel for you. If you want a night life then although entertainment is provided, it will not go on to the early hours and therefore you may be a little bored and would need to seek out a different environment for your needs. For us this is ideal and the perfect way to relax.

This was our first visit to Cobblers Cove unlike many of the guests who had visited on many occasions, but very shortly after our arrival we knew it would be high on our agenda for a return visit.
The accommodation, hospitality ,service , facilities and the food and its presentation were just superb in every way.
Whilst the hotel is a very peaceful haven it offers a good range of waterports facilities for the energetic and there is a lovely swimming pool surrounded by beautiful gardens with both shaded and sunny seating areas.
A very well run hotel by a team of true professionals.

We are leaving the hotel today after eight glorious days of sun, sand and relaxation. The service here is impeccable and the food is of the highest standard. We enjoyed the caviar and vodka evening and the manager's cocktail party was excellent. Food can be simply prepared or served with dressings, sauces, etc. You get whatever pleases you. . . Every staff member greets you with a smile and you honestly feel as though you are visiting someone's home. We stayed in room 27. It was a superior suite and included sitting areas both inside and out, air conditioned bedroom and plenty of storage. The room was extremely private yet close to all of the hotel's amenities. We would recommend the meal plan as the restaurant is one of the best on the island. Although the beach is very scenic, there has been much erosion and it is very narrow. This being said, we enjoying swimming and beach service everyday which included sorbet, cold peppermint towels, water, drinks, etc. If you care to venture from the hotel, the "yellow bus" is an experience and only costs $1.50 to go all the way into Bridgetown. We highly recommend the shops in Holetown and lunch at The Tides restaurant.

I agree with much of what the previous reviewer said-I wonder if we were there at the same time. Whilst the hotel is perfectly pleasant,it did seem to be lacking in atmosphere slightly, except for Sunday when a duo playing steel band music accompanied lunch. My biggest gripe would be the food. There was very little in the way of really light fresh dishes, very few vegetables and salads which I found curious in such a hot country. Most days dinner seemed to consist of quite heavy food, such as braised lamb shank and french onion soup, and lots of heavy purees. The puddings were great. Perhaps this is because there are a large number of Brits and the chef thinks this is what we want. One evening I had to send back my glass of prosecco twice because it was flat. One night I found a shard of pottery in my food. They were very apologetic and did not charge us for our meals. It happens,I suppose. The barbecue night was very popular and was the only time we saw the restaurant busy. The restaurant and bar service is very restrained and proper, perhaps even a little stuffy. However, the reception staff were helpful and efficient and housekeeping was excellent. The sea was very rough and the beach not usable for sunbathing as the tide was always high. Generally we found the whole place slightly disappointing and lacking in vibrancy and joie de vivre.

The hotel covers quite a small area. Those rooms/suites which do not face the sea (the majority) are gathered, in an almost horseshoe shape, round a charming garden area with lawn and - often providing a degree of privacy - trees and shrubs. Lying out peacefully on sunbeds outside your suite (ours was really spacious, well-appointed and charming), before the day has got going, you can hear enchanting birdsong and see birds darting around and also, occasionally, a mongoose and even a monkey. We did not visit a room facing the sea but we felt that they were quite close to the pool and the adjacent decked area, where people soon gathered to lie - a bit cheek by jowl - on sunbeds. Our - more secluded - garden room/suite (without sea view) suited us perfectly. The restaurant is delightfully situated, near the water's edge, and the food was excellent and the service charming and faultless. The hotel obviously (and, to our mind, unsurprisingly) has quite a large number of returning guests. The pool is not large but very pleasant and there is (at least, when the tide/sea conditions allow) a lovely stretch of relatively empty beach - which you can walk up to the neighbouring village of Speightstown.. We chose to lie on sun beds on this beach (assisted by the attendant) because it was cooler and offered much more space than the decked area, which also sadly suffered a bit from the problem of early bed-bagging. The hotel entrance/reception and indeed the hotel itself is surprisingly close to quite a busy road but we soon got used that and did not find the traffic noise disturbing. Meals in the hotel are not cheap but that's not, perhaps, unusual in Barbados. All in all, we enjoyerd our stay enormously.

My husband and I just returned from a delightful week at Cobblers Cove. We had a second floor suite where we enjoyed morning coffee and late afternnon drinks on the open air terrace. There are no TV's or radios so it is quiet which we liked. If you are looking for nightlife and dancing, this is not the place. There was entertainment a few nights while we were there but it was mellow and laid back. The food was the best we have ever had in the Caribbean and we have travelled significantly in the area. The food was always fresh, well prepared, and presented beautifully. The staff was friendly and attentive. I strongly suggest one take advantage of the meal plan as the prices are high. Not just at Cobblers Cove, but all over the island. We will definitel return to this special spot.

Cannot praise Cobblers enough. This was a return trip from last year and was equally wonderful. The setting is just heaven and Randall, his wife and all the staff (most of whom have been there for a while) are the most politest, professional and caring staff I've come across. They were so so kind to my daughter she loved them all (as do we) .... I think she fell in love with Philip. Accommodation perfect, no tv in accommodation, but you really do not need one (don't come if you want plasma tvs and kids club cos you aint gonna get it, the pool and beach are great and there is a tv room and kids activity room, and chess etc etc)... tree frogs chirping in the beautiful gardens and waves in the background is all the noise you need. Cocktail parties, high teas colonnial surroundings....it's just timeless. Speightstown a must visit, largely untouched by tourism. Oh and did I mention the food.... Luckily there is a gym and tennis court to wear it all off. Oh and the speedboat and catamaran and turquoise hues, spa treatments. I think i'll stop now. Am missing it too much. Bliss. Going back this year. Definitely.
