Found the location of The Reefs to be great for easy access to wonderful beaches nearby. Don't miss the short walk to Church Bay. A longer walk (or a short bus ride away) are the string of small beaches and coves along the South Shore Park - we hiked from Horeshoe Bay (access via tunnel beneath roadway across from the Fairmont Southampton Hotel) to Warwick Long Bay - a definite highlight of our trip (see accompanying photos). Our trip was in November - too cold to be in the water but great for beachwalking without crowds.

Outstanding property with some unbeatable amenities, primarily 1) the location on a cliff overlooking a private beach - every room has an ocean view; and 2) the exceptionally helpful, friendly, and professional staff. Others have noted that some of the property needs renovation, but they are doing renovations to the rooms (most seem to be done now), and the public spaces including the new spa are top notch. It's still a small place, but if you like a warm, friendly atmosphere, it seems hard to imagine you can beat this place. I have stayed at other places on Bermuda, and this one is definitely special.

This was our seventh New Year holiday with five other couples at The Reefs.
We arrived on Dec. 29th and stayed until Jan. 4.
The staff is outstanding, always eager to help or make suggestions.
Rooms face the ocean with individual and very private balconies. Just full of atmosphere.
We all were most pleased with the activities, entertainment as well as the food.
The Spa was exceptional.
Highly recommend The Reefs. Just a two hour flight to paradise.from the NY/NJ area.

This hotel is full of very friendly staff who work very hard. The hotel is on a hillside overlooking a small bay and all rooms have a sea view so that is lovely. The standard rooms are a good size with a comfy sofa and a balcony. The bathroom is rustic which I do not find charming. The shower takes minutes for hot water to arrive and then you have to dance in and out of the flow as it goes hot and cold.
The food is good but has too many unnecessary flounces ( swipes / foams etc ). There is lots of fresh fish which is great. The choices of 7 starters and 6 mains could do with being changed more often as after 10 nights it is a bit predictable. There are a few wines by the glass starting at about €9 a glass which is not bad for a hotel but the 17% gratuity on top is ( to a Brit ) just ridiculous - the hotel are making probably 75% profit so anything else on top just seems greedy. Luckily I had chosen half board as otherwise I would have had to pay 17% on top of a $50-$100 per person bill for dinner.
Well worth staying here but just be prepared for your bar bill to rocket if you like a drink.
