I'm extremely lucky. For the last year and the year to come, I live five minutes drive away from what may be the best beach in the world. Horseshoe bay is a large, sweeping beach of fine pink sand (yes, it really is pink), flanked by headlands that can be climbed and explored and lapped by some of the clearest water you're likely to come across in your life.
The beach has plenty of room, so you are always guaranteed to find a spot close to the water and has amenities is the form of a small shop selling sun cream, sun glasses etc, a small concession selling drinks and fries and burgers etc and some toilets. It also has a small car park which is only steps away from the beach.
I don't agree with the reviews that say the beach is spoiled by the crowds as it's big enough to take a LOT of people. Just wander to the far end and you've got a private spot.
The water is crystal clear and has great snorkeling opportunities around the headlands. The sea-life is great and you'll often see large Rainbow Parrot Fish around the reef. One particularly amazing sight, is seeing a shoal of silver fish, riding the waves into the shore and then swimming back out to sea for another go. I witnesses this last summer and it was incredible. I was body surfing in with them! The sea often has some nice waves as it's on the south shore of the island. Not big enough to surf, but just the right size for having great fun.
The beach is the start of a long stretch of the coast that can be walked. If you do that, you'll pass lots of smaller, secluded beaches before you come to Warwick Long Bay, the longest beach on Bermuda. The walk is well worth it. Then you can walk back and cool down in the blue, clear water.
