We have stayed at the Hamiltonian twice. Aug 2002 and July 2003. Both times were wonderful. We stayed in the one bedroom condos at the bottom of the hill overlooking the water. The staff members were very nice.
The condo was beautiful with tiled floors throughout and very spacious.
It could easily accomodate two couples because it has two full bathrooms. There was a patio out back with a beautiful view of the water and setting sun.The complex was very quiet and we rarely saw anyone. We had the huge pool to ourselves on many days. We rented scooters for the week both times and zipped all over the island seeing every nook and cranny. I would not hesitate to recommend the condos at the bottom of the hill but obviously the hotel at the top has some serious issues based upon comments from other reviewers. The only complaint I have is that the frogs were very loud at night. Some people find that a charming part of Bermuda. Bring as much food as you can because everything in Bermuda costs a fortune!!!!!!!! There was a grocery store just down the hill where you can stock up for the week.
Four bags of groceries came to $150.

I am surprised the Bermuda government has not done something about this place. The paint is peeling, there was an abandoned building next door and the rugs looked like they had been through the Frat party wars. We left and went to another hotel. Not only was the hotel beat, the front desk staff was rude to boot. They argued with us about the cleanliness of the room. They said the room was clean but that the rugs were just stained. Stained was an understatement.

the hamiltonian island club is nothing like the writeups and advertisements. the rooms are dirty, there is no service, the screens are full of holes, the ac is not working, cabs that run at their leisure provide scant service. This place leaves a bad taste and will never allow me to return to Bermuda
