Owner description: Three hotels line this beach, making it popular with tourists; you might want to avoid this place if you're not into the Spring Break college kid party scene, which tends to crowd the beach during the Easter season.

“Pink sand, turquoise water, goes on forever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

Beautiful beach with plenty of space. Very clean sand and water, plus a few interesting rock formations here and there. Great beach for a long walk. Surf may be a little rough for swimming.

“A chance to walk on the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

The Coca Reef hotel has reciprocal privileges with the Newstead Belmont. You can pick up a towel at reception and we enjoyed a very nice lunch on their verandah.

“Great Easter Brunch at Lido!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

Elbow Beach serves a great Easter Brunch at their Lido Restaurant. We've come here now several times for Easter and their buffet is great. They do change it slightly each year, so that it not the same thing each time. Lots of choices of appetizers, main courses, and desserts, and you can take as much or as little as you want. The buffet also included sushi this year.

The view is tremendous, looking out on the South Shore Beach. It makes for a really pleasant afternoon.

8 of us had a late lunch at Lido. Food was very good. The tuna tartar was outstanding as were the Dark and Stormys

“Beautiful. Fully agree, a must visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Another of the famous south shore pink beaches and probably the most famous one due to its proximity to Hamilton. There is only one public entrance onto the beach, which is via Tribe Road No 4b from the South Shore Road. For those without your own wheels take the No 7 bus to the Elbow beach resort bus stop, continue in a westerly direction for a 100 meter or so to find the lane to the beach.
Elbow Beach is a long beach of beautiful pink sand and turquoise blue sea with the reef rocks not too far snorkeling distance from the shore.
Unfortunately it appears the Elbow beach resort does rope off a section for their guests, which you can understand why they do it, but it may give a bit of an ‘us and them’ feeling as it does on the South of France beaches. Fortunately the rule here is that anything below the high water line is public, which therefore due to the size of the beach I can’t see it being a problem.
It certainly wasn’t for our off season visit last week as they were not doing it and we found the beach completely empty and, although there were large grey clouds overhead instead of bleaching sun, this just lead to even more atmospheric photos of the wonderful sand , sea and rocks.
