“Beautiful. Fully agree, a must visit”
Another of the famous south shore pink beaches and probably the most famous one due to its proximity to Hamilton. There is only one public entrance onto the beach, which is via Tribe Road No 4b from the South Shore Road. For those without your own wheels take the No 7 bus to the Elbow beach resort bus stop, continue in a westerly direction for a 100 meter or so to find the lane to the beach.
Elbow Beach is a long beach of beautiful pink sand and turquoise blue sea with the reef rocks not too far snorkeling distance from the shore.
Unfortunately it appears the Elbow beach resort does rope off a section for their guests, which you can understand why they do it, but it may give a bit of an ‘us and them’ feeling as it does on the South of France beaches. Fortunately the rule here is that anything below the high water line is public, which therefore due to the size of the beach I can’t see it being a problem.
It certainly wasn’t for our off season visit last week as they were not doing it and we found the beach completely empty and, although there were large grey clouds overhead instead of bleaching sun, this just lead to even more atmospheric photos of the wonderful sand , sea and rocks.
