First off, the people, the food, the setting are top notch. One thing about Elbow in particular, and Bermuda generally, is that the staff are all courteous, sincere and helpful. Our room was good, not great and the facilities, other than the dining areas by the beach, were eerily poor and looked abandoned. The whole time we were there, 5 days, we saw ONE chair occupied, in total, by the pool, no one behind the counter at the pool-side dining area and, other than staff, maybe two other people in the lobby. To be told at check-in that there would be a 2-3 hour wait while the room was readied was no unusual. What was unusual, weird and off-putting was that in order for us to kill time there was NOTHING to do in the hotel proper. We had to go to the beach area, in our travel clothes, and eat and hang out there. Warm, humid, sweating.. I don't know what the long-term prospects are for Elbow Beach are but it does not look good. There are not enough amenities for things to do especially when it rained. Very disappointing\.
