“Enchanting!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2010

This was my third visit to Bermuda and the first for my wife. I've stayed at Elbow Beach and Grotto Bay and wanted to try something newer. I researched Trip Advisor and, as always, everyone's review was right on point!
The place was perfect and in a great location. Paula and Andrew at the front desk were both professional and very pleasant to deal with. The accommodations were first rate, and the meals excellent!
The trick is to immediately obtain a "deluxe" scooter in order to not be captive to taxis. There's a scooter place that will pick you up at the hotel and drop you off when you return it. This gives you the freedom to go anywhere, anytime and navigating the island is easy!
Only two minor "observations":
First, the AC in the room had only one speed which was full blast! It was so noisy sleeping was difficult. Also, it may sound silly, but a pair of slippers with the bath robes would be a nice touch. This would allow you to enjoy the balcony and great views without having to put on shoes or sandals.
Next time to the island, we are returning to Newstead for sure. Now it's time to dry out foam the "dark and stormy(s)"!

For our anniversary we stayed at Newstead Jun 2010.

I contacted Paula at Newstead's Concierge Desk with a few questions. It turned out to be a few weeks worth of questions. Thru Paula I was able to arrange everything from flowers in our room, to dinner, to golf, to airport transport. You name it and Paula was able to find it, arrange it, recommend or reserve it.
Our room was a Studio Deluxe Room overlooking the harbour. End suite in one of the cottages. Inside, the bed and pillows were comfortable. Flat HD TV , plenty of drawer space, personalized electronic locked safe. We a little kitchen area and a large, spacious bathroom.

(personal note: in order to get into the shower/tub you needed to step in. The step-in was at least 15 inches high which makes it a little tricky. If you don't have a shower mat call for one right away. Don't try to "make due" as it's difficult if the tub is wet, even with the grab bar)

Anyway. It got even better outside the room. 2 patios with chairs and table on each plus a chaise lounge on the grass (see pictures). Un-obstructed view of Hamilton, day or nite. Resort's water shuttle to Hamilton is just on the other side of the infinity pool and public ferry stop a few yards further down the path.

Btw, if you go to the pool make sure you speak to Charles. Not only does he keep the beer cold and towels at the ready but is a great source of information.

Also, there are quite a few steps depending on which building you stay in and several that lead to the water shuttle.

Every person greets you with a "good morning" or "good afternoon" so you can't help
but being in a good mood while you're there. Need a taxi - make a quick call to the desk.

They also have transportation to Belmont Hills Golf course, we were a guest and recvd discounted greens fees.

This is our second trip to Newstead Belmont Hills Hotel; the first visit was in October of 2008. We had stayed at the Waterloo House in Hamilton and we did not think that any hotel could compare with it. How wrong we were. The rooms were the best; clean and the best view possible.

The staff at the hotel are one of best that I have ever expereinced. Room service was excellent along with the great resturants. Our thanks to Paula and the front desk staff -you are simply the best!

My family stayed here with a toddler for 10 days. I was pleased to have a full kitchen to prepare meals. The room service was excellent and prompt, staff were well-mannered and helpful, the massage was superb. My husband enjoyed the golf course more than once. I was impressed by the free ferry service across the harbor to Hamilton. Our suite was a one-bedroom unit with a large private balcony; they all seem to have a view.

The bed was very comfortable, which is nearly impossible when you're expecting (34 weeks). The rooms were tastefully decorated and not crowded. I loved the Bose sound system. The spa is large and the pool is gorgeous. I would have loved to swim, but the pool did not feel heated and rather chilly.

What great great quick getaway my wife and I had for four days in Bermuda. The staff was exceptionally friendly and efficient, the food at Beau Rivage superb. It also was very convenient for me to use the water shuttle into Hamilton each each morning to conduct some business and then my wife would follow to shop on Front Street. The rooms were spacous and the views were magnificent. The couples massage was very relaxing and my wife claimed best ever. I would higher recommend this to anyone and already have.

We came for 8 nights and so far have been here 12, stranded by the Icelandic Volcano. The Newstead have come up trumps, offering to continue winter rates for our extended stay. The reception staff have been unfailingly helpful and kind throughout.

As for the rooms: they're gorgeous, with the most amazing views; large and light. The pool are is charming and elbow beach near by is the best on the island. The domestic staff are cheery and thorough. Looking forward to finally getting home, but will hopefully come back soon

Had a perfect room with amazing views, wonderfully equipped. Charming and friendly staff.
One complaint - our room smelled constantly of food from the kitchens below (thro the aircon system) and nothing could clear the strong smell of cooking. Request a smell-free room (ours was a 1 bedroom suite no 643). Noise at night from outside a/c units
