“Lovely Jewel in Best Location on the Island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

From start to finish this is the best Boutique Hotel in Bermuda. The location is perfect for running into Hamilton by private or public ferry. The beach is a relatively easy walk or shuttle provided by the hotel. Golf is included in your stay on one of the nicest golf courses on the Island. Fabulous sunsets overlooking the beautiful harbour from your room or from the balcony of Beau Rivage, the hotel's French Restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful. We cant say enough about our favorite home away from home and look forward to our return in April. We had fabulous hot summer weather in November with only rain one of seven days...who would have thought?

Room Tip: 1-Bedroom cottage on the harbour is our favorite.

Great location, just 5 minutes from Hamilton using the ferry provided by the hotel, Great room service, restaurant is also convenient. The pool is great but was a little bit cold during my visit. Because you have a full kitchen is great to get some groceries in Hamilton and you can save some money. Sunrise suites are great !

I've been to various hotels in Bermuda and this one is the one I like most by far: the prices are more than decent, the rooms spacious and quiet and there is no constant disturbance by minibar service and housekeeping personnel or from other guests slamming doors etc.
The rooms are spacious and the kitchenette fantastic. I popped some popcorn and used the oven and microoven a bit.
The best is the fabulous view over to Hamilton and the restaurant Beau Rivage on the lower level. Jean-Claude is an excellent chef. I tried the escargots: they are to die for.

A complimentary ferry takes you over the harbor to Hamilton and back.
I can highly recommend this place and look forward to my next visit to Bermuda and the Newstead.

Visited in November for a week. Terrific location. Ferry across to Hamilton takes lesss than 5 mins. People very friendly in Bermuda. Clean resort but the one cockroach in the kitchen was not nice. Buy some groceries, restaurants VERY expensive - $28 burgers very typical in restaurants everywhere, along with a mandatory 17% tip added to your bill. Shuttle to and from the airport great. Local bus system very easy. The driving is crazy on very narrow streets. Leave it to the natives and enjoy your vacation. It is not in November, locals said the coldest month is Feb.

Beyond excellent, the staff at the hotel went all out to insure everything went great, even got sandwiches from a local fish house, get a pink bus pass which includes ferry and bus 35 dollars for 3days, the bus and ferries take you everywhere skip paying for tours and do your own, it was my wife's birthday and they bought her a cake for her birthday, try art Mel's spicy dicey for fish sandwiches you will love it-gigantic and good, skip pickled onion -not good, great place for breakfast and lunch right at the ferry dock, weather is excellent and the locals are the nicest people ,all in all great

Room Tip: Do not rent mopeds roads are extremely narrow if you do stay in hamilton

I was there for a baby shower held in one of the suites, the suites are well worth the price. The view of the Hamilton harbour is priceless. I have also been there for a private b'day party and the service was exellent, Newstead is diffinately a very peaceful private getaway spot for me.

Before flying we asked about transport from the airport and for a reservation for dinner. Andrew at the front desk took care of both. On arrival we found our "suite" to be a commodious apartment with full kitchen and 1+1/2 baths. Plenty of fridge space for breakfasts, wine, and a week's worth of groceries. full grocery store at the east end of Front Street in Hamilton with reasonable prices and easy to return by public ferry or Hotel's own ferry. The pool, overlooking the bay and Hamilton, is good for paddling and long enough to exercise. Staff were quick to respond when we could not figure out how to turn on the television and also when we returned at 2:30 one afternoon to find that we had left the "do not disturb" light on, so the cleaning crew had skipped us. One call to the desk later and they returned. Friendly but not overly-friendly culture among the guests.
In addition to the ferry just at the door there's the #8 bus a short walk away on Middle Road. We have visited Bermuda often, always enjoyed it, but found Newsteadbelmonthills to be special, a place to which we shall return.

Room Tip: Ask for a one bedroom suite on the same level as reception. Confirm arrival by email in advance to...
