We were at the Newstead for 4 nights from Friday, July 20th to Tuesday, July 24th and could not have had a better time! Check in was a breeze, our room was ready early and we went right in. We booked a 1 BR suite and wound up having the whole top floor of one of the cottages on the water.
The suite was absolutely spectacular! It was more of a luxury apartment than hotel suite. The rooms were large, very roomy and were very tastefully decorated. Nothing was skimped on… quality furniture, bedding, electronics, and appliances throughout. Even what looked like Brazilian Cherry wood floors running through most rooms with beautiful tile in the bathrooms and it was all spotless and odor free. Even the plumbing fixtures were high quality in both the bathrooms and kitchen. Even the water pressure in the shower was wonderful with nice big showerheads. The view from our windows and balcony was just unbelievable!
We were directly above the water with a clear 180 degree view of the harbor boat activity and Hamilton. If I was to drop a pebble from our balcony, it would have hit the water without interference about 30 feet below! With the full kitchen, we tried to spend as much time as we could on that balcony. It was so easy to take their ferry over to Hamilton, walk about 3 or 4 blocks to the local supermarket and pick up breakfast and lunch food to prepare later. We even got some take out Thai, brought it back and enjoyed it on that balcony. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and helpful from the front desk to housekeeping. Taking their shuttle over to Elbow beach was a snap, no more than a 5 min. ride. Even the return trip was easy. They have an agreement with the Coco Reef Resort. Beach lounge chairs and umbrellas were provided for free and when you were ready to return to the Newstead, you just went to the front desk of the Coco Reef and they called over to the Newstead. The shuttle arrived in less than 5 min. We rented a moped after the first day and just used it to go to whatever beaches we wanted to.

I would consider the Newstead a boutique luxury hotel. It is just a nice size and doen't have some of the craziness of large hotels. It was full the time we were there but pool lounges were always available and the pool was never crowded. There is no doubt that this is the place to stay if you are going to Bermuda. Just the fact that it is centrally located makes it the perfect location. The airport is about a 30 min. drive away. Trust me, no need to search any further, this is the place you want to stay in if you are going to Bermuda!

If I can just give Hotel management one thing to work on, the upper floor balconies on the cottages have no protection from the sun. It can get quite hot out there at times and it would be great to have some sort of awning that could be rolled out when needed to provide shade. I'm sure a windy day could pose a problem but I've stayed at resorts that have a devise on the awnings that automaticly roll them up when wind speed is above a certain amount. But being that close to the water is still worth dealing with the heat from the sun.

Our family enjoyed the time we spent at The Newstead Belmont Hills Resort. We had a beautiful two bedroom suite which was absolutely beautiful and very spacious. My husband and son played golf twice at the Belmont Hills Golf course. We enjoyed the shuttle they provided to the golf course as well as to Cocoa Reef. The pool was wonderful, overlooking Hamilton. We enjoyed drinks by the pool as well as in the pool. We took the hotel ferry a few times back and forth to Hamilton to eat out and walk around. We also enjoyed eating at the hotel on the deck overlooking the pool. We wished the shuttle and the ferry had longer hours particularly in the evenings.

Room Tip: We liked having our kitchen and enjoyed eating on our balcony or in the dining room area. Our room...

The Hotel location is nothing extraordinary and the facilities are poor. There is no beach. Rooms are average. I would rather stay at the Fairmont Hotel. The wedding we attended was in this hotel so we chose it out of convenience but it turned out not worth the money.

Stayed her to celebrate new year 2012 in Bermuda. Was worth it given the location and view of the harbor. The rooms are nice and comfortable with a spacious balcony. The hotel restaurants are very good (do try their fish and chips... loved it). We found a good deal online which included a days use of the golf course. The course has smaller greens where accuracy is more imp than power so it was a lot of fun. The infinity pool and sauna are great to relax in at the end of a tiring day.

The hotel itself is very nice. Our rooms were spotless and provided everything we needed. There was no noises from other guests rooms above us or on either side of us. The pool area was very nice and was used daily by the kids! The lunches poolside were delicious! The beach they use was beautiful, not crowded at all. Only negative there was that the shuttle stops at 4 so you have to pay for a taxi back to hotel if you stay later. We used the water shuttle to Hamilton several times and it was great-always on time and nice to not have to pay for a taxi. Again, only negative was the running times were limited so if you weren't done with dinner by 8:20 you were back in a taxi. This was our third trip to Bermuda and our first stay at Newstead-we chose it because we were traveling with our four children and for the money it worked out better staying in a 2 bedroom suite then it would have to get two seperate rooms at another hotel. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at another Bermuda resort last year but chose the Newstead Belmont this year. We stayed in a two bedroom suite and it was fabulous! The suite was well decorated and maintained. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms immaculate, and the kitchen was exactly what we needed. We shopped for groceries in town - which was further then expected - so we could eat breakfast and lunch in. The balcony area was large with plenty of room for a table and chairs plus recliners to relax. The best part was the view - unobstructed wide open views of Hamilton Harbor (just like the pictures on their website). We took the free hotel shuttle to the beach (a short ride) which was also a nice spot - just get there early or an umbrella! The hotel staff were also perfect - thoroughly cleaned the rooms, maintained grounds, and good shuttle service. We purchased a week pass for the ferry and bus so that we could get around the island with ease. The hotel ferry only runs morning and late afternoon/evening. Paget is centrally located so it was relatively easy to get wherever we wanted to go. We would definately stay here again!

Room Tip: Our room was on the top floor near the end so it was quiet and also provided an excellent view. It w...

We loved this beautiful resort and the location on the harbor was wonderful. Our 1 bedroom suite was spacious, clean, nicely decorated with a huge balcony off the living room and bedroom. The staff was friendly and helpful if you asked. We walked about 1-1/2 miles to a grocery store to purchase snacks and breakfast food which we enjoyed every morning on the balcony watching the boats. The resort has their own ferry to Hamilton and offers complimentary car service to and from the airport. One day we hired a taxi for a three hour tour to St. Georges and the island. Oscar, our driver was recommended by the hotel staff and he was informative and funny.
