I've yet to go on a formal 'hike' here, but love the grounds as it spans a LOOOOONG section of the South Shore. I go here on my 'lunch hour' between working at the stables and an afternoon in town and it's never very touristed. There are toilets, and parking lots, and if i had a dog, I'd bring her/him here, because the views, in all weather, are vast and impressive from here. This just doesn't seem to be a tourist place, and as a Bermudian expat this past year and a half, I find I'm drawn to it again and again.

“WOW, WOW, WOW - Perfect for Couples.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2011

The perfect beach for couples, you cannot go wrong. This beach is not busy, has spectacular colours, and is protected by coral reefs on all sides. The sand is like silk and the water temperature is simply perfect. You will not find a hot-dog stand or souvenir shop anywhere nearby. This is a beach away from all noise, clutter, and is not run over by yelling kids, dogs, etc.. No motorboats racing around nearby. In fact, this is, as stated above, the perfect beach for couples.

“Secluded hideaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2003

I recently visited Bermuda for my honeymoon and my husband and I spent three days at Astwood Cove beach. On all three days, we were the only ones at the beach (and they were 85 degree days in June!). There were little coves to explore and several Bermuda lont-tailed birds nesting in the cliffs. The water is good for shallow swimming and snorkeling but coral reefs offshore can be dangerous. The beach is a little difficult to get to, because you have to climb down steep (but safe) stairs to get there from the park. I would highly recommend this beach for people who want to be alone and have a beautiful private beach in Bermuda!
