We arrived a year ago and I was disappointed that I needed a bit more 'I.D.' to check out books than I've experienced in other expat locations. That being said, I was thrilled to have the library be so full of what one typically wants in a library. There is a wonderful reference section, computers (get there early, one must sign up), dvd's can be loaned out as well as music, and there are numerous tables to settle in on. I turned my husband on to the library and he's found several good reads of his choice of (rather ecclectic) reading material and uses it as a nice spot to while away his lunch hour after eating his sack lunch in the park. Having come from the MiddleEast where the only good western library is a membership library, it once again feels 'like home' to have such a nice one on-offer here in Bermuda. The front desk folks are nice and reasonably efficient and there's only been one mix-up about an item they felt hadn't been returned which they cleared after realizing it was indeed their mistake. My only compaint would possibly be that even in the summer and certainly in the 'fringe' seasons, it is over-airconditioned, making the skulk for reading material not so inviting.
