Enjoyed the Sunday 10 AM service with my elderly parents. Interesting church and friendly congregation. It is worth a visit even if you like churches.
I live in Bermuda and occasionally visit the Cathedral with visitors (friends). The church is beautiful in and out. The organs are something to see, especially the older one. For a small fee, one can take the many stairs and go to the roof top. This of course needs to be done before 1:00 pm. The 360 degree view is magnificent.
There was a service taking place when we visited but we could see from the door just how beautiful and ornate the place was. The colours glistening from the sunlight pouring through the stained glass windows, the sweeping arches joining the masonry, the wonderful cedar wood doors & seating & the floor tiling. It's all so much to take in, you can almost forget it's actually a place of worship!
Whoever designed it should feel very proud. I hope he lived long enough to see the finished work of art fully constructed. A legacy for many future generations to use, appreciate & enjoy. Nice one.
Bermuda has the most churches per sq.mile than any place in the world I believe. This one is a stunning example of Bermuda architecture and many famous Bermudians lie in this graveyard. Visit this and attend a service here and in other churches on the island
Take a walk down Church St and and just point & click. Be sure to look for the little pink chapel as well.
