We just returned from the Hamilton Princess. It is a lovely old hotel with a great location. The stay could have been perfect as, for the most part, the staff will do anything to please you, and it is a very well-maintained hotel. However, when we checked in, the young lady at registration, Asura (sp?), clearly assured us our room was no where near the elevator or ice machine. The room, 506, was dead against the wall where everyone congregates to wait for the elevator and the doors are opening and closing all night. I immediately returned to the desk and was told there were no other rooms available- hard to believe in a place so large in off season! We were awakened many times during the night, and were VERY unhappy the next morning. Everything was remedied by E. Michael who moved us to a quiet room, and we enjoyed the rest of our stay tremendously.
