“Not Worth it IMHO maybe we ordered wrong. Service was great though...”
My wife and I were there on the 16th of Feb for a dinner. Our first in Bermuda. First off, it's a great location in Hamilton on the 2nd floor above the Hog penny.
The service from the Host to our server was amazing. They were really personable and fun to talk to. Ambiance upstairs was also really nice.
The food however thought was not up to par. Maybe an off night, or maybe what we ordered, but wasn't good.
We started with the Fish chowder - It was alright. then had Oysters, which were terrible. I get bigger and fresher tasting Oysters here in Toronto followed by the Scallops which were a tad undercooked, not bad, but again expected better.
I ordered the Snapper, which I really disliked as it tasted frozen and the gnocchi underneath it was really to smushy. My wife had the lobster pasta in the chili oil sauce. This was an alright dish. but for almost $40 not worth it.
Again have to say that the service was amazing... people were so friendly and fun to talk to but the food did not live up to our expectations, and we are not picky eaters in the least. We shared a bottle of red and I had a scotch at the end of the meal. Bill was just over $200. Not a bad price, but again wish the food was better.
All that being said, will try it again, the next time we're there as perhaps it was an off night or we ordered the wrong dishes. Our server and host really saved the night as they were great to talk to and very personable - and ironically both from Canada originally.
