“rude matre'd”

We reserved an outside table and were told there were none available when we arrived even though there were 4 empty tables outside. The empty ones never got filled all the time we were there. Never again.

“Outstanding seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013 via mobile

We came to this restaurant at the recommendation of a Bermudian we met on a tour. He said it was the best seafood on the island and I have no reason to disagree! The sushi was outstanding, as was the salmon and other seafood we ate. My son also had duck and escargot, which were also delicious. We didn't have dessert, as we were heading into downtown for the Wednesday night festival. Expensive, as is all of the food on the island, but it was wonderful. Highly recommend

“Something's Fishy at The Harborfront”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

There was something amiss here at the elegant Harbourfront.

The restaurant is in the first floor of a museum overlooking the eastern end of the harbor - very picturesque. There's three areas to dine - the sushi bar, the dining room, or the outdoor deck.

Inasmuch as the deck was given over to a private party the evening that we dined, the only view that we had was that of revelers imbibing; and this, after a struggle to convince the hostess to give us a window seat!

The service was European-slow but professional. The appetizers were generous, and well plated and executed.

The local fish four ways was a miscue. Four different fresh local fish in four preparations: all overdone and tough, with very little differentiation between the preparations.

Like the other fine dining in Bermuda this one is pricey with some fairly good bargains on French wines buried in the wine list.

This might be worth a second visit, since we both had the same poorly prepared entrée, and I'm not sure what the capabilities of this place truly are.

We found it peculiar that the kitchen and wait staff are all obviously European, but the restaurant promotes (and half the menu is devoted to) sushi. Maybe we should have tried it - it wouldn't have been over-cooked...

“Never fails to impress”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

Harbourfront offers both a great sushi option as well as a conventional menu (steaks etc) you can mix and match when you order, but there is a very cool sushi bar also in the restaurant. Overall it is always a great experience, the staff are outstanding, the manager is very kind and the atmosphere is fantastic while the views over Hamilton Harbour make it a perfect setting for a great evening.

Personal tip is go for the sushi as it is the best I have had anywhere, but all the food is good.
