I had my hotel make a reservation at the Flying Fish for Saturday night. As we were in Bermuda during the off-season, there really wasn't a need to make a reservation since it was quite empty at 6pm. We chose the earliest time because my one year old gets cranky and tired towards the evening and we didn't want a meltdown during dinnertime.
They had his baby highchair ready and waiting for him when we arrived, which was a nice surprise.
The food here is FRESH. Like, they pulled the creatures from the water right before it went on the grill kind of fresh. My husband had oysters to start, and I had the guinea chick. I cannot recommend the guinea chick ENOUGH. It is a baby spiney lobster, and Flying Fish grills it so you can taste the sweetness of the meat. It is served on top of a small salad. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
For our entrees, my husband had the fisherman's platter, while I had the special fish trio. Again, very fresh and only grilled, which is really how one should eat fresh seafood.
I ended the meal with a tartufo dessert. Nothing too special about it but was good as an ending to a great meal.
Our bill was $160+ for one beeer, a couple of oysters, an appetizers, two entrees and a dessert. I guess in relation to the type of food we had, it was actually pretty affordable.
Totally recommend this for those that understand seafood.
