“Very Enjoyable, (but save for a rainy day)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

We were in Bermuda in the cooler off-season and took part of a Sunday morning to visit the aquarium and zoo.
The facility is easily reached by bus. It is in Flatt's Village and all the bus drivers were very cordial about letting us know what stop we wanted. Just ask them to alert you when you get on. The bus stops are immediately in front of the zoo.
The exhibits are fairly modest and didn't seem to be holding the interest of the youngest kids in the place. But as an adult without children to entertain I enjoyed learning about the natural history of Bermuda. The aquarium has one very large tank with a couple of small sharks in it as well as some of the larger fish species.
The zoo had an interesting Madagascar exhibit with some ring-tailed lemurs and tamarinds in it. The whole exhibit is screened in so the animals and birds are free inside. The lemurs came out of the trees to sun themselves on the walkway.
There is a snackbar with outdoor seating with gorgeous views out over Harrington Sound. The water was that spectacular Bermuda turquoise and the sun came out while we were eating. Beautiful!
This is the ideal place to visit when the weather isn't good enough for the beaches.
If you take your small kids and they get bored, please don't let the run crazy and bother other people. There is a kids play area outside near the snackbar where they can burn off a little energy. There is also a fairly standard tidal pool exhibit where kids can touch various critters. So it's not as if there is nothing to keep small kids interest.
As another comment stated, this isn't a big city extravagant place. But it is a place to go learn a bit more about the island and is worth the trip.

“A nice hour on a cloudy day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

Not every day can be a beach day in Bermuda. When it's cloudy, it's worth a trip to the Aquarium/Zoo. For one thing, it's a rare value on the island. For only $10 each, you get admission to both. No, this is not the Boston Aquarium or the San Diego Zoo. But you could spend a half hour to 45 minutes at each and get your money's worth. The trip also puts you in a nice part of Bermuda where a 5 minute stroll to Flatt's village where you could have lunch at Rustico rather than eating at the Aquarium. You can come and go all day as long as you save the Aquarium receipt. Plus, the bus stop for the 10 and 11 bus are very conveniently located.

“Didn't keep my interest for too long”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

It was an okay excursion. It should take no more than an hour to tour the whole premise. There is nice view of the ocean after the Madagascar museum, great for taking pics. When you leave the aquarium, across the street, there is an interesting harbor. It looks like a river but its not and the water changes tides depending on the time of day. It's pretty cool!

“Nice little zoo with great aquarium”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

$10/person admission. Aquarium was very well maintained & much larger than I expected. Zoo was nice & unique in the fact that you walked into some of the habitats such as the lemurs & the lion tamarins. Nice way to spend a few hours.

“Do not miss the Aquarium when visiting Bermuda.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

This historical aquarium is so well maintained and is a source of excellent information about the island. Although called an aquarium it offers so much more and has many animal species to view. I do not generally like animals in captivity but this is acceptable. The staff are well informed and helpful. Offers activities such as whale watching during the season.
