My husband and I stayed at the Machebo Beach resort and we had Ike's and the French Steakhouse to choose from with our all-inclusive package. We ate at Ike's 4 out of our 5 night stay. The atmosphere is relaxed and intimate, and everyone is so attendtive. Your water glass will never be empty, but you'll never feel smothered. I recommend sitting outside by the pool.
We were rather gluttonous and tried quite a few dishes, and we each had our own favorites. I loved the tomato soup (smooth, delicate, full of flavor) and ceviche (bright and fresh) for starters. My husband particularly enjoyed the spanakopita. For mains, both the lamb and the "land & sea" were delicious. For dessert, I devoured the "chocolate temptations" more often than I should have, and at one point we were treated to the chocolate cake. Oh, the chocolate cake! Not too sweet, not too rich, absolute perfection!
But the best "dish" of them all was our server each night, Jason. Our first night started off with handshakes, our final night ended with hugs. He is warm and friendly, and he makes excellent suggestions from drinks to dinner to dessert. He was the icing on the cake!
