We were in Aruba for just one week and stayed at different hotels to get a better feel of the island as this was our first time there. We had few complaints about the other hotels, but Bucuti surpassed the others by many features: The location at one of the best beaches is hard to top (the beach feels very private as it is in the low-rise hotel area with barely any party tourism); the room we had was gorgeous with a balcony overlooking the beach; the food at the restaurant is of a top standard, tasteful and delicious including organic options; reserve a table around 6 o'clock and enjoy the sunset while you dine. The service is also great with welcome sparkling wine after check-in and a bottle of champagne waiting for you in the room. If you like you can take yoga or pilates classes at the beach organised through the hotel next door. Oranjestad is easy to reach by public transportation and there are always taxis waiting outside the hotel. Bucuti will certainly be high on my list for future visits to Aruba.

My wife and I stayed at Bucuti for our 20th anniversary. We are rarely able to get away on our own since we have kids, so I did a lot of research so we could go to the very best place.
I have to say I was not disappointed. Every detail was thought of, from complimentary Champagne at check in, to the gentleman at the door helping us get our luggage onto the bus leaving and wishing us a pleasant trip. All the staff was very helpful and eager to make the stay pleasant from the Concierge, to the groundskeepers.
The beaches were amazing and the beach at Bucuti is among the best we saw. We had planned on checking out the rest of the island but were enjoyed Bucuti so much, we rarely ventured away.
We will definitely come again!

Room Tip: The Tara Suite was worth the extra cost. We haven't stayed in the other rooms, but the view was...

My husband and I have just returned from two weeks at the above resort. I booked the holiday through Thomsons, but requested a sea view for an additional cost directly with the hotel. We had a room on the top floor of the Tara block and couldn’t have been more pleased with the view. The hotel is managed very well with ample and courteous staff to attend to your every wish. We deliberately chose the bed and breakfast option so that we could dine out in the many and different restaurants located in the high rise area or in Oranjestad (both about 5-10 mins in a taxi). The hotel is very quiet and the evenings are sedate and very relaxing (but is nice to get out and sample the night life). The beach set up is good with loads of sunbeds; however, despite the request not to reserve sunbeds, many ignorant individuals still do (and often don’t turn up until the afternoon). Breakfast is good and would recommend the Tara breakfast if only for the good humoured staff.

Room Tip: Seaview in Tara is an excellent choice - but other rooms in Bucuti also overlook the sea (although a...

Thank you for your wonderful comments on resort and staff and our "tranquility".
Peace and tranquility is what we aim to offer at the resort and purposely offer a dine around at 16 restaurants while a wonderful American Breakfast is for free.
Our One Happy Island is famous for it's Hospitality and the many wonderful restaurants within short distance from our Resort and we encourage our guest to enjoy the variety of offerings.
Thank you - Masha Danki,

It's no secret to anyone who knows us that we absolutely love Bucuti and Aruba, but one the main reasons we have returned so many times is the wonderful relationship we've established with the employees of the resort. We are treated like family and as long as happens, we will continue to come back. The list of our favorites is long, but here we go:

Elements: Nakarid, Nancy, Oriana, Daniel, Kimba, Janice and Mirna
Tara: Anel & Marguerite
Sandbar: Orville, Karen, Marina, Aldrick, Robert & Angelo
Bucuti: Joel, Frank and Bernice

We are always made to feel so special and that nothing we want is too much to ask for. Each one of the people I named above make it their goal for us to feel personally cared for and go above and beyond for the guests and because of that they make this resort what it is, in my opinion, and why we consider it our home away from home.

We've only been back one week and my husband is already trying to figure out how soon we can go back.

My wife and I stayed at Bucuti & Tara for a week in June, 2014. We couldn't have chosen a better resort. The entire week - from start to finish - the friendly staff proved to us that we made the right choice in our stay. A few specific highlights:

1) The breakfast buffet was wonderful. Great selection for all types of eaters. We were almost always full enough to skip lunch. We also dined at the Elements restaurant twice. Both meals were great, but for couples looking to save $$ on food, I'd only recommend eating there once or twice since it adds up.

2) We stayed at Bucuti, and not Tara. To me, an extra $150/night for a few feet closer to the beach (and a bigger suite) wasn't worth it for us. We had no intention of sitting in our rooms, so for those of you who plan on being at the beach or exploring the island, I would recommend the Bucuti rooms over the Tara suites. Again, it's a matter of preference but for most travelers who plan on using their rooms for sleep/getting ready, the Bucuti rooms offer more than enough amenities.

3) Every single staff member we encountered was polite, helpful and accommodating. I'll call out three names in particular: Daniella, one of the concierge, who greeted us with an 'orientation' of the resort and glasses of champagne. Madeline, who gave us great commendations on some of the best restaurants on the island. And Frank, the head bellman, who was always the first person to wave 'good morning'. Those were the three we dealt with the most but everyone was friendly. It was evident from day one that service was one of the most valued aspects of the B&T staff.

4) My wife and I explored many beaches around the area, but still preferred the B&T part of Eagle beach. Our highlight was that B&T is an adults-only resort, so you couldn't find a quieter, more peaceful spot to relax, swim or get some sun. We never took advantage of the flag service, but that's a great perk as well.

5) Fitness center is pretty standard but I did utilize it a few times.

6) They have a little "movie on the beach" every Sunday/Thursday. We attended both times just for the ambience (knowing that one of the movies was going to suck, but we didn't care!). I'd make a small recommendation to the B&T folks to maybe add another speaker to the sound equipment. We were able to hear everything ok, but sometimes the wind and the noises from the nearby resort drowned out the sound for those sitting farther away. Or possibly add subtitles to the DVD when playing?

I'm trying to think of a downside but I really can't. I've read some of the negative comments on Bucuti & Tara and find a few to be a bit overly-picky. To each their own, I guess. We enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave. If we go back to Aruba in a few years, I don't see us switching resorts.

Everything about the Bucuti and Tara Beach Resort gets an A+!
From "Crazy Frank" at the front door, to the concierge staff, to the awesome woman in the towel hut, the staff is very pleasant and made us feel welcome from the time we arrive to the time we left. The cleaning crew kept our room pristine and turned down our sheets and blankets every night without fail. We roomed in the Tara suite part of the resort (room 319) and had no complaints. The view was gorgeous! We liked being on the second level rather than ground level for the privacy.
The complimentary breakfast at Elements was AMAZING! Omelette bar, pastries, fresh fruit, bacon, (real!) eggs, and a special dish every morning! Delicious! We had lunch at Elements a few times... My husband almost always got the salad bar and had no trouble filling himself up and I LOVED the chicken quesadillas with mango salsa! Dinner there was great too. We splurged and had the $200 private, romantic dinner on the beach... 6 courses and a bottle of wine or champagne. We were hesitant at first, as the menu is preselected and my husband has some dietary restrictions, but each course was better than the last AND they were able to alter dishes so that he could eat everything. A must do if you're on your honeymoon!
Don't choose Bucuti if you're looking for a party spot or lots of people watching on the beach... Eagle Beach is the best on the island if you're looking for a relaxing trip and no kids kicking sand all over your towel! The party scene is a $9 taxi ride away.

A perfect stretch of beach, aware from the hustle and bustle, it's one honeymoon or anniversary after the next at this couples only spot. It's a great hotel, with strong service. The room was beautiful, the views are pristine and it's perfectly quiet (in all the right ways). Plenty of chairs and umbrellas to choose from, nice bar, it's a solid spot for couples to be sure. We thoroughly enjoyed. If any minor note, would be that occasionally the strong service can be a wee-touch too strong.
