Here at the moment (19/06/08) - came on a last minute cheapy with first choice - so for what we paid its not bad. They are remodelling several rooms on a rolling basis - so as a package deal traveller you will be put in an old room with grotty carpet etc. We got ourselves moved after the first night - dont go on the 4th floor coz the bathroom extractors are just above you on the roof and make a din - also if you face south over the row of 3 restaurants they have live singing/music every night which can be loud! There is a spa being built by the pool so the builders there can be noisy if you are trying to nap on the sunbeds. The new floor has been laid in the reception area and they are now working on the the cofee shop which is closed. The aircon in the rooms while cooling the rooms fails dismally to extract the moisture from the air resulting in permanently damp feeling clothes - but if you come to the humid tropics then thats what you expect. Cant fault the water pressure however unlike other reviewers. Not seen the rooster by the pool but plenty of Iguanas and lizards. The beach is reasonable but everyone there is on the make - taking their cut of anything they can book for you. Oranjestad is a waste of a bus fare - unless you have a bottomless wallet and shop at the top end boutiques - otherwise its as crap as the poor end of Tottenham Court Road. The market and factory oulet on the way to the capital is a joke - bearing in mind that nothing is manufactured here how can they have a factory outlet? Its just the same rubbish as in the capital but more expensive. Bring your own tea and coffee and powdered milk because they dont get restocked in your room.

“Dirty Dump”

Brickell Bay Beach Club Aruba

If you are staying here this summer Bad Luck. Location isnt bad just opposite the packed palm beach and near to some nice resturants.

Rooms are awful, the first room we stayed in had condensation pouring from the walls and the ceiling, woke up the first morning with drips of water on my head. and the smell Ugggh.

Teenage children ran around the corridors all night long the first weekend keeping everyone on our floor awake. The ice machine on the landing was so noisy I couldnt stand it.

We were moved to another room which was marginally better with a carpet on the floor but it still smelled damp and musty

The pool area is dirty with no shade at all. The pool bar very expensive and the girl behind the bar had the music turned up so loud (for the teenagers) it was like being in a noisy club. She would nt turn it down either so we moved off to the beach for some peace

Wouldnt recommend this to anyone. If you've booked it here cut your losses and move elsewhere.

Usually I have no problems with Brickell Bay, but this time they put me in an AWFUL FILTHY room. Peeling paint, dirty bathroom, etc. (see pics).

Brickell Bay is really a crapshoot as far as the quality of the room.

I was recommended this hotel from someone who has stayed quite a few times in the past. We almost changed our minds after reading some of the horrible reviews of this hotel. We are so happy that we listened to our friend and not the reviews. Our experience was quite wonderful at the Brickell Bay Beach Club. The room was nice, the bed and linens were excellent. The refridgerator was a nice bonus and there was plenty of hot water and maid service. The hotel is doing some upgrading, but they appologized for that noise. It is not a five star resort, however you are within walking distance of some of the best hotels, attractions, casino's that Aruba has to offer. The pool bar is quiet and nice. There are not a lot of kids, which we consider a plus. My husband and I will totally stay here again. The rates are so reasonable, you get so much more then you pay for. We were able to splurge on many other excursions and wonderful meals with the money we saved. Aruba is beautiful.

Brickell Bay Beach Club Aruba

We just returned from apretty good vacation in Aruba. First of all Aruba has some of the most beauitiful beaches in the world. The location of this hotel is its best feature, its right across the street from the beach and all the great places to eat. Now for the the not so great part of this hotel. The Brickell Bay is very dark and musty. The furinture was very worn and really need to be updated. The worst thing about our stay was the fact we found tiny little bugs on the walls of the room. We went downstairs to complain and were given another room. After checking out the walls we went to dinner, while preparing for bed I notice there was somying crawling along the headboard of the bed. The bugs were in the groves of the headboard. I don't know what kind of bugs they were, they looked like flees even though the lady at the front desk said Aruba doesn't have flees... I don't know that... but with the bugs, the smells, and the over all appearance of the place, we checked out the next day. Just one peice of advice you really do get what you pay for.
