“Good Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2012

My husband and I stayed at the Brickell Beach Club in Feb., 2012. This hotel is across the street from the beach, but within easy walking distance. We found the hotel to be very clean and the hotel employees friendly and helpful. We liked the location of the hotel because it was very near many eating establishments. The hotel had a free breakfast every morning consisting of toast, a croissant, ham, orange juice, and coffee. Very carb loaded, but filling and the least expensive meal we had. Meals are not cheap in Aruba.
The room was of adequate size and the bed was comfortable. The only complaint I have is that during our first night, we had trouble sleeping because the bar behind the hotel was having a party with a live band. The music was very loud, but it only happened once.
Across the street from the hotel is an excellent, but expensive Italian restaurant, Hostarra Da Vittoria. On the front side of the hotel is a Benehana restaurant and also a Hooters. Close by there are also a Burger King and McDonald's, of course. There are many restaurant choices within easy walking distance.
We did not rent a car while in Aruba because we were unable to get one at the last minute. If you would like to rent a car, do so in advance. We really did not need a car because we caught the bus to various beaches and a shuttle into town. The Arubans were always friendly and willing to help.
This hotel is the best deal on Palm Beach. There are nicer, huge, hotels right on the beach that are much more expensive. If you want luxury and a place right on the beach, I would recommend the Hyatt, just based on appearance. We only slept and changed clothes in our room so having a big, fancy hotel was not important to us. The Brickell was clean, and nicely kept. The pool area was quite nice and the bar lady super friendly.
We enjoyed Aruba. As stated previously, the Aruban people are friendly and nice and the beaches are beautiful. On the negative side, Aruba is touristy and very expensive in food and drinks. I've been told that the cost of food and drink are in line with the prices in New York City.
The Brickell Beach Club has my recommendation.

I have to say I really do not want to talk bad about this place but I have to say this place really does false advertise. First of all it is not on the beach nor can you see the beach from your room you have to walk about 5 mins to the beach. This is not bad but they really make it out in the pictures like you are closer to the beach. Just tell the truth! you can stay at a place that is actually on the beach for the same or less money!! Everyone kept telling us what a great deal we prob got and I was like umm NO it was just as expensive! Also I got really annoyed as they advertise couples massage in the brochure my boyfriend inquired about it and she stated she would have to bring in a helper and we would have to schedule way in advance and basically tried to talk him out of doing a couples massage with me!! Then proceeded to tell him how she has been on dating websites and she is a single mom! Talk about uncomfortable and totally unprofessional even if she did have a lil crush she should have kept it to herself! We were on a romantic vacation!
We will never stay here again it was a learning experience and I will certainly pay more attention to the reviews from now. They really should focus more on the selling points of the hotel. Tomato Charlie’s is awesome great price and friendly and the location is great for the night life.

I enjoyed our stay @ Brickell Bay. I enjoy the off the beach location as you do not always have sand in your room. Check in is very slow. Staff is laid back. Rooms are clean and comfortable. There are always clean towels waiting for you on the lounge chairs at the pool. Pool is nice to just hang out. The beach is not far from the hotel, and they have arrangements at the beach for the the Brickell bay guests.
I would definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the pool side. There are restaurants on that side and it gets very loud at...

I just cannot understand why this hotel has not had higher reviews. The rooms are very clean, spacious and well decorated, the pool area is superb, the communal areas are maintained to a very high standard and the service is excellent. There really isnt anything to fault with this hotel. Ignore any negative reviews and stay at the Brickell Bay. I guarantee you will not be dissapointed.

We read all the reviews before taking a chance on the Brickell Bay. when we arrived, just as the reviews mentioned it was a little slow on check in. After getting our room 303 we were pleasantly surprised, very clean and adequate. The breakfast was nice to start the day and as far as location with not being directly on the beach was great, just a 5 min. walk to the lounge chairs that were available for hotel guests. Restaurants were all within a 2 min walk as well, with quite a variety and prices not to crazy. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for decent value.
