I just returned from 6 night /7 day stay at the Phenoix. I Love this place and aruba. This was my 3rd time staying in Aruba. First at the Phenoix. I am obsessed in reading trip advisior reviews, so I thought i would write one as much as I look!
First, we were in the new tower one bedroom. We were on the side of the building, and when i say beach view i mean beach view, litteraly i could jump off my balcony and land in the sand and be in the ocean in a matter of 15 feet. Other rooms had great views, but ask for a room on the side/corner of building, oh did i mention we had 2 baconys! One in room one off family room, right by pull out sofa.
Room: NIce kitchen although we never prepared a meal it as nice to look at :) 2 nice bathrooms, the master bath had nice size shower and jazzuzi with jets in the bottom of the tub and the side, relaxing. Other bathroom off kitchen had large shower and toilet. We had no problems with the room. It was spectucliar.
Area: Having this been my 3rd time im pretty familuar with Aruba, although going with 2 other girlfriends we walked the entire strip all the way down to the Ritz and went in and out in and out in and out of shops and restruant when going witht the boyfriend we didnt do that extensive of wondering! :) We are breakfast bar at pure ocean the first morning but after taht we went to local restruants all with in walking distance. Try salt and pepper and Scotts Brats good food made with love. Nonthing fancy just chill. There are so many options along the beach , I had a smotthie 3 times for breakfast. THe first at the Hyatt called Kadushi, its very good and fresh. Note you dont have to walk into the hotel, its just one the beach, the other two about 1/2 mile down at Eduado's beach shack, both are good, but im a small town girl and like Eduado's about 3.00 cheaper and its local. I support local , :)
My girlfriends and I walked the beach every single morning . Aruba is SAFE , SAFE, SAFE, we never felt threatned. We walked back at 10pm after a late night burger at the Raddision and were not scared, its very safe, well lit and clean. They have a wak way connecting all the hotels you can walk on rather then down by the water or in sand where it is less lit.
Divi is right by police station, but its not a police station like your thinking of in US. its a colerful building very small, i dont think they have much crime. Note: they do not house inmates there like alot of us jails do. Its probably a 900 sq building!
I would reccomend Aruba and Divi Phenoix to anyone and everyone. My 2 other girlfriends have been to alot of destations : South Africa, Montego bay, Negril, Bahamas, Cancun, Puteo Valerta Mexico, cruises.. just to name a few they have never been to aruba before, they were sure glad they came, we arealready talking about our next trip! We loved the phenoix. Hyatt is very nice to , as we visted the pool area there , but the view from the hyatt room does not even compare to Divi Phenoix!
This place is a 10!
