“Great, relaxing atmosphere with a beautiful beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here after staying at the Marriott Surf Club. The Ocean Club is a much more relaxed environment, with less children, and quieter. We stayed in a studio room and it was much bigger than the Surf Club. There is also wi-fi in the rooms at Ocean Club - which is handy. The beach and pool area is also very relaxed and has a great ambience. We will definitely be coming back.

“A great timeshare!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

This is my second time staying at the M.O.C. This years experience was even better than the first. I rented an ocean front room on Red Week.com for approx 1800.00. This is the first time going thru a third party so I was initially nervous but it was the best thing we did. We saved over 2000.00 for the week and got the best room. We got a room 5191 and it was perfect. I would request this room if possible. This room had all the amenitites of other rooms, Kitchen, living room, hot tub etc but it had a balcony that was 3 times the size as a normal balcony. I would say it was like 40 feet long and 10 feet wide and it was overlooking the pool/ beach. I know most people would say "oh not really ocean front" but in the end having this "extra large" balcony was even better especially if your going with a bunch of friends or family. Secondly as you exit your door there is a door a few feet away that leads outside to the pool area, what is more convienent than that!

This being our second time we knew the drill with the huts. The first 2 days I woke up early and reserved a hut for that day. If you do this your hut is free. The keep all even numbered huts for day rentals. I would get there at 7.30am. The last 2 days of my trip I reserved them and paid cause I figured id want to sleep in at some point. The resort was surprisingly not overly packed. It was busy but not so bad you got annoyed. One thing to keep in mind is that the adult pool is not for O.C guests, that was kinda annoying. We did go to the surf club and use there lazy river, weather you suppose too, im not sure. Knowone really checks anything. You can really get off a cruise ship and act like you belong and use the pool and amenities.

Overall tips- Right when you arrive go tot he towel hut and reserve your huts if you dont want to get up early.
Get a Taxi to the super market and get food for lunchs. The prices at the pool for lunch are staggering. I think 2 burgers and 2 drinks was like 50.00- 60.00. Also pick up booze and some mixers. This will save you 100's of dollars. The cabbie wont mind waiting, they get it.
Try La Vista Restaurant for your first night. The buffet /food is great without leaving the grounds. We are always tired after a long flight and dont like to venture far.

Totally clean grounds, friendly people. I highly recommend.

“Great Staff, Great facility”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

Everyone who works at this location are happy to be there and looking to encourage your good time!

The sports bar was very accomidating to our american football needs on Sunday and everyone was enjoying themselves over beers and wings. The food was great as well as the atmosphere.

The rooms were excellently kept, room service definitely makes a point of putting the extra effort in.

THE POOL BAR AND GAME STAFF ARE AMAZING! Hands down, the best. Very friendly, remembering drinks, making suggestions.

Bingo at the pool daily was a real treat!

The only downfall to the resort is a total lack of night life and very little direction as to were to go to get some.

Luckily we had read some blogs before going down and knew to take the Kukoo Kanuku bus and walk down beach to some other resorts for night life.

THey could really use a band a few nights a week or a bar with some atmosphere for sure!

“Very good if timeshare is your thing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

We generally do not like the densely-populated high rise area of Aruba but rented a unit thru Redweek.com because relatives were staying there. That said, the units are very nicely appointed and staff was friendly and accommodating. Expect families with kids but it is not nearly as obnoxious as the even more crowded surf club. This place is not for you if you crave peace and quiet (we love the Bucuti!) but is fine for families with kids. There are no laundry facilities in each unit but there are free laundry facilities available on the floor. I don't see how it is financially wise to buy one of these units with the high maintenance fees, unless you buy at a discount on the secondary market.
