My husband and I just returned from one week at the Holiday Inn in Aruba. We had a wonderful week. The check in was great at the hotel, as a friend had recommended that we take a cab from the airport. That was the best $20.00 US I have ever spent. We arrived, picked the tower we wanted to stay in (The Aruba Tower) got our room, unpacked, had lunch and still beat most of our fellow travellers who were still checking in. The Aruba tower has been recently renovated and even when we were there, some of the floors were getting new carpet. Our room faced the parking lot, but that was ok, as we didn't spend much time in our room, I would recommend asking for an inside room in that tower...
Alot of people complained about the food in the buffet, but we ended up eating at the Miramar restaurant 4 nights, the food in there was the best..you had to reserve everyday at 8am and we had no problems, as we ate early. For lunch I would strongly recommend the Seabreeze bar...wonderful food, wonderful view and the staff are so friendly..
It was extremely warm, so we also had a hut everyday, you had to get down early to get one, but it was worth it...see Earl and he will help you out..
We did have lunch at the buffet once and it was fine and took in the Italian theme night..
We also ventured into Aruba and ate at Madame Jeanette's.......a great experience and very reasonable...worth the cab ride....but you need to get the hotel to reserve a time and day for you..no walk ins, it's too popular.
Of course going All-inclusive is the way to go, the drinks at the bar were plentiful, ask for a Chi Chi...and can't say enough about the staff, wonderful and friendly...
Don't waste your money at the Holiday Inn casino, try walking down to the Radisson, much more success there.
I would highly recommend this resort. Great food, clean, friendly and real value for the buck...enjoy...
