“Great Experience - counting down the days until we get back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We have stayed at the Renaissance Hotel twice in Orangestad and the Riu in Palm Beach. Last year - for our 4th vacation to Aruba we stayed at the Holiday Inn and absolutely loved it. There are too many great places to eat in Palm Beach to do an all inclusive. The staff at the Holiday Inn was great and the beach was so relaxing that we are going back in a few weeks. I cannot imagine any other property on the island being as relaxing and reasonable as the Holiday Inn. My wife and I have been married 10 years and this is our 5th time in Aruba. We can't imagine another property that we would enjoy so much as the Holiday Inn.

We stayed for two weeks all inclusive in December 2014. The hotel is in a very good location right on the beach but badly let down by its food. The Hotel served the same food every day - breakfast .lunch and Dinner. The al a carte (Sea Breeze) had the same menu throughout the holiday and the quality of the food was very poor and some items we had to pay extra for ! Breakfast was repetitive with not a lot of choice. The drinks choice were limited on the all-inclusive and other choices had to be paid for and these were expensive. We would not recommend anyone to go all-inclusive as the food outside the hotel in the resort is much better and cheaper. We paid over £4,.500.00 for our package. I think that the Hotel should be 2 star and is very over priced. Aruba is a fantastic place but should we return we will stay in a self catering or room only basis. Andy D

I visited the holiday inn last April, brought my mother for our birthday! We loved the resort, so much so we are returning this April and I'm bringing my husband and co worker as well as my mother. We cannot wait !! Holiday inn is very clean, very nice rooms, very nice staff, food is good pizza was fabulous! Made in a real out door fire oven, the best. The pools were always clean and always lots of chairs at pool or beach area. We normally go to the Riu resorts on other islands or Dreams resorts, but for the money and location you can't go wrong with the Holiday Inn! Some of the other comparable resorts have wi if but you have to pay extra, holiday inn includes it and not just I the lobby, your rooms as well. Try Holiday Inn first before paying the higher rates else where, you won't be disappointed.

We have spent around five days every January at the Westin for five years, the Westin was sold to RIU so first time at Holiday Inn and we could not have been happier. We were in the Sea Tower 6th floor, first room at the back which had a view but over the work yard below, we asked to be moved no problem went closer to the beach, for a partial ocean view this was very impressive in our experience. Good wifi, you do not have to log on repeatedly, fridge and coffee maker. Usual procedure with Palapas, book at 4pm the day before or they will be gone, they do dish out any cancellations they may have at 1030. Nice pools which are right on the beach. My favorite thing is from the sea to jump into a fresh water pool! We did not eat here, endless eating opportunities. We hope to come back here next year.
They have plastic glasses which we thought a bit cheesy, then found we could mix a drink in the room, take it and walk along the beach while the sun sets. Once the sun is down pop over between the hotels and on to the strip to find some dinner. We always book ahead for Wacky Wahoo and Madame Jeanette's

2 week stay January 11-25 2015. Travelling with 2 other couples.
Partial ocean view room in Sea Tower 7528 on the north side.
The housekeeper Julia was amazing. Room was kept Very Very clean and supplies stocked. I hope the manager reads this review because I went to the front desk to compliment her and they told me to post it here.
We found all the staff very happy and willing to help.
The beach here is perfect.
Food and beverage service and quality were also very good.
The hotel offers free bicycles which we borrowed for a ride to a snorkel beach about 15 minutes north.
There are lots of restaurants within walking distance.
The only negatives for us were all the children and loud music at night from the club next door. If you want quiet ask for a pool facing room in Sea Tower. Wish they made the pool by the Sea Tower adults only.

I had a wonderful and relaxing time at Holiday Inn Resort Aruba. Apparently it was recently renovated; I love the spacious, modern lobby. The grounds are immaculate with lots of pretty swimming pools and a nice layout, and the beach is roomier than some of the other ones/less crowded. (The resort in general felt less crowded than some of the nearby ones, maybe cause of fewer rooms?) The ocean water is calm and swimmable (although a little cloudier due to the surf there than at some resorts further down). The food was freshly prepared at the Sea Grille and the service was gracious there; the Surfside Bar had tasty burgers but the service was little more scattered (they forgot part of our order). Great mojitos at both places though.

The room was clean, spacious enough and decent with a lovely partial ocean view; updated decor and nice bathroom (love the new countertops) and a decent size fridge. Comfy bed. As some have noted, there's a touch of mustiness, but I think that can't be helped because of the tropical climate, and you get used to it in minutes. We were in the Sea Tower which is at one far end of the resort but closer to some of the quieter pools. Fairly quiet except for some noise due to a bar-restaurant outside of the resort, which only got annoying one night (usually they didn't play music late, but they did on Sunday nite but it wasn't intolerable.)

Great location on Palm Beach if you want to be near other restaurants/shopping as it is right across the street from 2 other malls (Paseo Herencia and Palm Beach Plaza) and other shops/restaurants along the road. So no need to do the overpriced all-inclusive at all in my opinion. My favorite nearby restaurants were White and Amuse Bistro.

The beaches are public in Aruba so you can go to any other nearby resort's beach if you like as well. I walked by many of the other Palm Beach ones, and honestly, I thought Holiday Inn had the nicest grounds/pool layout. (The nearby pricey Hyatt is all cramped and jungle-themed and some of the others also looked more crowded.) The hotel buildings might be a little less luxurious than some of the other resorts, but are still above average.

Definitely sign up to be a free IRG club member if you can; they give you several nice bonuses like free bottled water and Wi-Fi and a 15% restaurant/drink discount at the resort. I also liked that there was no stupid 'resort fee' add-on here; even the beach umbrella stations are free, you just have to reserve it at 4PM the day before. There are some exercise classes too.

I think they should consider moving/upgrading/advertising their spa; I felt bad for it sitting in a remote corner of the resort where no one would know its location. They could make better use of a beachfront location with it too.

If you want a quieter beach, Eagle Beach might be more your speed but it's more isolated from the shops/restaurants. I wouldn't advise being in Orangestad which is more noisy and has a bunch of chain shops and messy port views with cruise ships. But if you want to be right in convenient Palm Beach, Holiday Inn is a solid bet and good value for the money. Cabs from the airport to Palm Beach are set at $25 fixed rate. The weather and water and happy vibe in Aruba are unmatched!

Without a doubt the best value on the island. You share the same beach with all the overpriced hotels. The staff are fantastic, food is excellent and you are close to all the important sites.
If you have a need for plush carpets and chandeliers - check into the Riu or the Ritz Carlton.
I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Aruba 22 times over the past 18 years. You can contact me directly for verification. brian@emecorp.ca or 416 800-1783

Room Tip: Book early. The hotel fills up very quickly. Ask For Alvaro.
