“Great Vacation Amentities Need Improvemant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

My family and I recently returned from a 7 day vacation to Aruba. This was a last minute trip so hotel options were minimal, but we were excited to see that the Holiday Inn was available as many friends and family have stayed there previously and loved in. Well, we have mixed reviews on this resort.
The resort itself is a perfect fit for families with smaller children who do not want to be walking miles to get from one end of the resort to another. It is literally a 5 step walk from exiting the pool to the beautiful sands on the beach. This is a smaller resort so any room has quick access to all amenities offered. Rooms are pretty basic but comparable to any holiday inn anywhere in the world. VERY CLEAN!! which is what I loved!
We choose to partake in the all-inclusive offered through this hotel. Which we were quite disappointed with. Food is very limited at this resort. Many people do not have the all inclusive package so they definately do no cater to those that do. For instance on one particular night the buffet offered, a salad bar ( basic salads, dressing, chick peas, tomato, cucumber, prosciutto and a cheese ) french fries, some sort of roasted vegetable, a pasta bar and a type of roasted meat. Many would say that this would be perfect, but with two smaller children finding options for them to eat was very difficult . The flavor of the food was definatley below par.
What we did come to discover is to skip the buffets all together and hit the one of the 2 a la carte restaurants. Although menus were limited food was usually flavorful and plentiful. ( I do feel sorry for anyone that had to pay for any meals or drinks at this resort as it is very very expensive, $150 for lunch not including alcohol )
One other negative to this resort is the fact you must sign for everything, even a coke at the pool bar you must wait and sign for ! VERY ANNOYING! There must be a better way to keep track of sales!
Although we were disappointed with the meals at this resort, we had a great time. Honestly we were not visiting aruba for the foods. This resort is a good fit for famililies, its super clean and we loved the location. We would return for that fact alone.

This newly renovated hotel felt like a palace. It was close to great dining, shopping, clubbing and water sports. The staff was amazing and the "standard view" room had an ocean view! The pool and grounds were smashing and new and everything good was in walking distance. If I ever get back to Aruba, there's not a doubt that I will be staying at the Holiday Inn!

Room Tip: Ask for a standard view room with an ocean view.

Visited for the fourteenth time, mostly in February. This time I visited in October. The hotel was clean, employees very helpful and pleasant. The construction/renovation appeared to be finished. Check in time was appropriate. Sometimes in February there are lines everywhere but this time it was great. The hotel facilities were very good, pool was always clean and pleasant, the beach was not over crowded and the water as always was clean. The weather was same as in February, warm and breezy, not windy. This is the first time I had breakfast included in with the room. Excellent breakfast buffet. The restaurants were busy but not over crowded. Madame Janette was as always very good, but suggest reservations are made early. I think that I will switch to off the High Season, it is more relaxing.

Holiday in was a perfect hotel to stay at. It's located off the strip by many restaurants no need to do the all-inclusive the Holiday Inn. The grounds are really clean, staff were super friendly and helpful.
About 15 minutes maybe 20 minutes from the airport. $20 taxi ride one way.
The holiday inn included two pools & one hot tub & was located on the beach.

Only downfall is the showers have really low pressure but it was manageable. Nothing to keep me from not returning again.

Holiday inn was about a 45 minute ride from baby beach --which you have to rent a car to get there or do an all day excursion. They have car rentals on site of the hotel -- and the hotel was about 15 minute ride to the California lighthouse. Unfortunately I do not remember how much the cab ride was to the lighthouse.

The hotel is a bout 10 minutes away from Eagle beach. The bus stops infront of the hotel. you can take that to Eagle beach for two dollars a person.

This is our first time staying here. For the last 4 years we stayed at the Westin and now that it is gone, decided to stay here. Check in was fast and the girl at the front desk, Shalisa, was so friendly and professional. We stayed in the new Sea Towers and it was beautiful, on the third floor, facing the pool and some ocean view. The new pool was wonderful, I just wish children under 12 would use the children's pool. It would be much quieter for the adults to relax. Everyone there were friendly and there was plenty of chairs and shade to go around on the beach and pool areas. The man that cleans the pool area at the Sea Tower is a very hard worker. I would have my coffee on the balcony every morning and would watch him clean everything.
The food and drinks at the outdoor bar were great. Sofia our bartender was very nice. The only problem I did not like and didn't notice right away, was the bills for drinks and food have a 15% service charge that was automatically charged to you. When I asked if this was a tip added on, I was told that it was a tip for all the employees (pool cleaners, maids, anyone that worked there) need to split that 15%. WHAT????? from then on, we added 5% extra to make a 20% tip. Our cleaning person was perfect, I wish I had her name but she was there every morning and cleaned very good. It was a perfect hotel for us. Will be back next year.

Room Tip: New Sea Towers facing the pool

We spent the first two weeks in December 2014 at the newly renovated Holiday Inn at Eagle Beach. The staff were friendly, the restaurants and bars good. Our room was a good size with a good sized bathroom with walk in shower, balcony, useful fridge and new, comfy bed. On occasion I could hear neighbours but it wasn't too intrusive. The Housekeeping staff were very obliging. Facilities such as the 3 pools and 2 jacuzzi whirlpools were clean and well maintained with lots of seating around. The large hammocks in the gardens were a great source of amusement. So too were the dozen or so Iguanas who live around the pool areas and were seen lurking about in search of titbits near the bar. They are harmless and quite tame! Luckily, as Platinum members of IHG, we had our palapa assigned for the whole fortnight thus avoiding the irritating hassle of having to queue up each afternoon to reserve one for the following day on the beach.
At times service at bars, restaurants and reception could have been quicker and delivered with more smiles but generally the whole two weeks' stay was very enjoyable. We were greeted with a choice of rooms so that my limited mobility could be best catered for. Staff were very helpful when assistance was requested and we were treated to a bottle of champagne in our room in celebration of our wedding anniversary which was a lovely touch. Overall, a great holiday and I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel - we are planning our next trip already.
Tips: we did not take the all inclusive option but fellow guests told us it is very good value indeed.
There are many shops and restaurants and a cinema in walking distance and a good bus service into Oranjestad. You may not need a hire car. Car parking is a nightmare both at the hotel and around the resort.

Room Tip: One of the blocks is noisy at night because it is nearest the night life - check with reception on c...
