“Relaxing Vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

My wife and I stayed here recently for a week. We had an oceanfront room that was remodeled and had very nice amenities. Mind you , this is not the Ritz Carlton but was a clean, centrally located hotel that was right on the beach. The staff was accomodating and ready to please each time we had a question. Check in was fast and courteous. We did not try the food or have the all inclusive package. Many awesome restaurants within walking distance! They do have a "breakfast and booze" package you could purchase which I thought to be a great idea! Overall, definitely worth the price. I will be coming back to enjoy Aruba and the Holiday Inn!

Lovely hotel, as we're priority members got a room upgrade an free breakfast every morning. room has a stunning view of the ocean. Lots of restaurants close by. Drinks and food wasn't overly priced either. Had some fun in the hotel casino. Sunbeds were a problem with people going down before 6am to reserve them with towels. This wasn't very fair. But would go back again.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea View room, Very spacious.

I was going to give this hotel five stars but I have a few important flaws to point out. The room was spacious and clean and the location is top notch, you cannot be any closer to beautiful Palm Beach, literally on top of it. Two things really irked me though.

First, we stayed on the Sea Tower, the view is beautiful. It's right next to MooMba Beach Bar though, which doesn't belong to the Holiday Inn, and MooMba has music. Loud music. Normally it wasn't a problem, except on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday included a DJ that had a microphone, it was very hard to sleep and the noise kept on until after 1am. You could literally sing along to everything even with the window completely closed and the blinds pulled. Moomba was very tame with the noise except those evenings.

Secondly, getting a shade at the beach.... be prepared to queue for them. What? Yes, you have to queue. Every day people start queueing at 3pm for shade areas (the cabanas) to be distributed at 4pm. This system could definitely be improved. The Holiday Inn should inform the guests this system exists at check in. We found out when we put down our towels at 10am, went for a walk by the water and when we came back 15 minutes later we had a mean looking security guard holding our stuff (including my purse), like we were some sort of criminals. The lady we poached the shade from was extremely nice and explained the system to us. Nobody at the Holiday Inn did. We were supposed to guess apparently.
This way of distributing the cabanas allows people to reserve one and then spend their entire day elsewhere (namely the pool). Sucks when you're risking a sunburn, bathing yourself in sunscreen lotion to prevent it, seeing a cabana stay empty for 5 hours right next to you.
To have some sort of shade when we were leaving for the airport we saw people leaving their towels on the pool chairs at 6:30am and going back to bed. This is very inconsiderate to other guests, but the Holiday Inn allows this. Since the cabanas are all reserved people RESERVE the pool chairs... if it was me I'd have staff yanking towels from chairs abandoned more than an hour.

It's a very good hotel if you take ear plugs and a +50SPF sunscreen lotion, or you like losing vacation time by queueing in the sun to get a cabana. Decisions decisions.

Oh, kudos to Miguel at the main towel distribution area who did his best to get us chairs in the shade. He was very nice and helpful, struggling against an unfair system.

Room Tip: Be prepared to type a super complicated wifi password several times a day to stay connected.

I have been to Aruba many times, this was my first time at the Holiday Inn. It was great. We stayed in the Sea Tower right by the pool. You could not be in a better location. Will definitely stay here next time I go to Aruba. Staff was great. Kids eat free too! Any questions feel free to ask.

Room Tip: Stay in Sea tower!

Stayed here in mid-August for four nights. We traveled with friends who were "repeat offenders" having stayed at this hotel a couple times before. We had an "upgraded" room with partial ocean view. The room was very predictable for a Holiday Inn: king bed, ample closet, updated bathroom with shower only, small frig, mini-coffee pot, small table and sitting area. The balcony had a couple chairs and small cocktail table. The room was clean. My only complaint was during check in - check in is listed at 4:00. We arrived at the hotel at about 2:30 and were told that our room would be ready in 15-20 minutes. When we checked again, 30 minutes later, one room was ready and the other was not. We were invited to change into swimsuits and have our luggage held by the bell-hop. The second room was not ready until well after 4:00. They were extremely busy and I realize the hotel is under no obligation to have rooms ready before check in, but I wish they hadn't told us the rooms would be ready earlier.
Otherwise, we had a great stay - the beachfront is HOPPING busy with lots of amenities nearby. You can reserve a little palapa umbrella free of charge, and there are a few waiters you might be able to flag down for a drink of a bite to eat. We only ate lunch at the poolside restaurant (all other meals we ate off property). The food was decent.
Most of the staff were pleasant (towel service folks were a little snippy), the grounds are lovely, and the location is very convenient. We booked directly on the hotel website and got a great rate. A solid performance.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade - why not! The higher up the better for good views.

We had a great family vacation in Aruba staying at the Holiday Inn. Remember, it's not your 5 star hotel. It's quite simple, but the rooms are clean, service was fantastic and the resort has the longest stretch of beach. Food? You get get what you pay for. Too bad the Italian Restaurant is just being used as an overflow for the buffet. The extra restaurant would have been good for the resort. The only negative about the resort would be having to sign every time for drinks(alcoholic) and food and in order to get a palapa, you need to line up the day before at 4:00p.m. Vacationers start lining up before or around 3:00p.m. Waste of time! We always hit the beach after breakfast and pulled out some chairs under the palm trees. Worked just as well. This resort is not just an all-inclusive resort, so you will see an extra cost on some items at the Sea Breeze Restaurant We cannot say enough about Hugo the waiter. We have never seen a waiter work so hard. He definitely made the service part of our vacation a 5 star rating. He looked after our whole family including the kids and it was very much appreciated. We used the sports centre. The teens had a fantastic time using the paddle boards, tubing and parasailing. All at a cost of course, but always available. Wi-fi included in room, but very spotty. Didn't have wi-fi for the last 3 days of our trip. Great family resort!

Room Tip: The buildings are lettered A,B and C. B building being central/lobby

This was our first visit to Aruba and we are so glad we stayed at Holiday Inn. We loved the pools right next to the turquoise blue ocean. We walked everywhere and did not need a taxi and after walking by all the other hotels glad we stayed here. we loved that the pools and outdoor restaurants at holiday inn were steps from the ocean. The manager Sandra immediately took care of a problem with our refrigerator and even ensured a new one in our room. All the staff and maids were very friendly. The only place we ran into one unfriendly person was in the casino at the black jack table there was a very unfriendly lady. She was so unfriendly that we decided not to play black jack at her table after she was very rude answering our questions Sunday night. hardly any customers were in that casino and now we know why. We would never go back to her black jack table after that bad experience but the bingo at 4 pm looked crowded and we would try that next time or go to one of the many other casinos within walking distance at other hotels. We loved everything else about the hotel layout and had a wonderful view from the 6th floor sea tower.
Even though it was considered a partial view, we could see everything seated out in our private balcony each morning. Listening to the tropical birds ocean and enjoying warm trade winds and sunsets. Loved the cabanas and palapas also...this was our dream vacation here. We miss aruba already and will definitely go back again to holiday inn next time. Carnival show and aqua zumba, free bikes and other activities were excellent. Our daughter asked to go again for her 21 st birthday and we will start saving up to go back to holiday inn aruba!

Room Tip: Sea towers were awesome with private balconies with ocean and pool views. Other buildings were proba...
