“Best Location in Aruba.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014

First this is a Holiday inn. If you want plush and pampering go to the Hyatt but expect to pay a lot more cash. That being said this hotel has the best beach convenient to all water sports and excursions. all rooms have a view of the ocean some better than others but all have a view
Rooms come with a real patio 4 people sitting in chairs with a table fit easily on the patios.
plenty of closet space comfortable beds small refrigerator 2 dressers couch and table with chairs
in my experience all the staff were pleasant and helpful . small gym for simple workouts. Body salon available, 3 pools hot sauna and ambient temperature sauna , Gorgeous beach palm trees and pallapas for shade. beachfront dining and bar( happy hour 4-6 b1g1) . ice machine on every floor, security at hotel entrance and security on property perimeter, Excelsior Casino
nice selection of machines and tables, Servers are seen often to get your drinks you don't have to look for them they are looking for you. They have on site restaurants but we did not
dine at the resort, we did have lunch a few times at the beach bar. I would recommend the fish n chips fried grouper large fillet , The beach assistants are very helpful with beach chairs tables or lounges. There were complaints about the towel system, but your towel is your chair location reservation. If you were allowed more towels the selfish would take a prime spot at the beach and also the pools. Walk out the front entrance and you have all types of dining available and for those who like coffee Starbucks 100 yards from hotel entrance or Dunkin Donuts 3 minute walk from the rear entrance. The only negative thing I could
say is musical entertainment is weak, But there are plenty of options a short walk away. I met
a few people during my stay and they are Holiday inn repeat customers and Holiday inn Aruba
will be my choice in October. Bottom line most come to Aruba for the beach and weather Holiday inn offers clean comfortable rooms at affordable prices on the best beach in Aruba.

Room Tip: All rooms have a view of ocean. oceanview room will get you closer to beach and a more expansive vie...

We have always had a great experience at the Holiday Inn. However this time is not the case. We had issues checking in, we were told that we booked a room for 4 people and our charges would be almost $700.00 more than we had on an online confirmation ( which i could not find in my emails at that moment ) Because there was a long line of folks waiting to check in behind us, I said - go ahead and put us in a room and I will figure it out later. When I confirmed that my card was charged the additional $700.00. I took my computer to the front desk and showed the same attendant that checked us in the confirmation. She was NOT friendly at all, in fact I would suggest she was confrontational. I have never had anyone at the Holiday Inn or in Aruba for that matter give me an "attitude" until this visit. Perhaps some training on customer service for this gal is in order.

Travelled here in July 2013 with my wife for our honeymoon. We stayed here for a week and I honestly could not fault the place at all. The staff are really friendly and do all they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We stayed in a superior room which had an amazing view of the ocean. The hotel is on palm beach and this is the best beach on the island.

The food was varied from night to night with a wide variety of different foods to suite all tastes. The breakfast was great lots to choose from - Bacon, eggs, sausages, pancakes etc etc. the drinks were fantastic and the cocktails were to die for.

This was one of the best holidays I have ever been on. The island is lovely and they hotel was amazing. Highly recommend!!

The Holiday Inn Aruba has just completed a renovation. We stayed in the old Bionare tower ( I think the new name is Ocean Tower ) This tower underwent a clean up renovation , new rugs , paint ect, ect,. They really did a nice job in updating this wonderful property. The lobby is all new & check in is much faster than in the past. The beach is the best in the high rise area. We do not eat there except for breakfast. The buffet is the same as it has been for years . Good food , decent service. The beach crew is very helpful in setting you up with chairs & towels. The pool area is really nice with the addition of a 3rd pool by the sea tower. The new lobby bar is a nice place to hang out. As always the Holiday Inn Aruba is a great value, We have stayed here 10 times , they have a lot of repeat customers. If you have not been here in recent years give it another try, it is much improved

Room Tip: Is you stay in the sea tower stay on the holiday inn side , Palm tower stay on the garden side

Stayed at Holiday Inn 4/21/14 to 4/28/14, have been to Aruba at least 7 times and have stayed at Radisson and last year the Westin. Loved both those places, however Westin now closed for renovations as Riu has bought them and Radisson was way too expensive. We went the all inclusive at the HI which we normally would not pay for all inclusive as there are so many good restaurants in the area. Radisson not all inclusive and Westin was breakfast only, however the price from Toronto was was much cheaper to go all inclusive with Sunwing or Sunquest compared to same week with Westjet which was flight and room only and was 800.00 more for two, so was no brainer to take the all inclusive. We ended up eating all our meals there since they were included. The breakfast buffet was fine, lots of variety and dinner at the other restaurant was very good with good selection. Few items were extra charge but did not pick them. Drinks were good, no problem getting served. All the service was very good in both restaurants and the bars, room cleaning was done in a timely manner and rooms were cleaned to our satisfaction. Even though all inclusive we did have to sign bills every time we got something. No problems at check out bill was zero. Not sure if the bills were different for all inclusive but they seemed high. For example, 4 cups of Balashi beer came to approx 32.00, included tax and 15% sercharge. Same with the meals at dinner seemed pretty pricey, but since we were all inclusive I did not care as long as I did not have to pay for them. I did tip extra whenever I purchased anything because I would not be surprised if the employees did not get all the 15% service charge. I also left the cleaning staff about $20 in the room when we left. Check in and check out was no problems, quick and went right to our room although we arrived right at 4pm. Went down to reserve palapa for next day no problem waited in line for about 5 minutes and got one right in front facing beach. Not so good the rest of the week. We arrived on Monday and left on Monday. The rest of the week we started out lining up about 3:15 for 4PM and every day after that it got earlier and earlier if you wanted first choice. All palapa's were reserved every day. Just bring a book and a drink to the line and chill out while you wait. Even though this can be a pain in the butt every day, i prefer this to getting up at 6am every morning to get a chair in the shade and finding people put towels at the beach and the pool which is just plain rude. Both the Radisson and the Westin have the same palapa reservation system. I think several hotels do that as most of the palapa's have numbers on them.

Overall I had reservations about staying at the HI however I was quite pleased with the whole week and would not hesitate to go again. As far as Aruba goes it is my favourite place to vacation and have been to many Carribean islands. The cost is more to go there (from Canada) but well worth it. We did not rent a car this time or go to grocery store however we have many times in the past so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

One other thing, keep in mind this is a Holiday Inn and not at Hyatt or Ritz Carlton. There are much nicer hotels and also hotels that are not as nice, but the Holiday Inn exceeded my expectations.

just returned from our 6th stay; it just keeps getting better & better. The renovations are wonderful. cannot find a better beach. yes, you have to get in line for a hut each day but then get to talk to other guests. stayed Tuesday -Tuesday; easy check in, room was ready at 2PM...able to unpack, change and hit the beach....so felt like we got an extra day
we visit the other hotels but keep coming back to HI....easy access to the beach which is what we go to Aruba for
