“What a nice surprise!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

When we were searching for resorts in Aruba, we started with the All-Inclusives. And while this is an "All-Inclusive Optional" property, we chose it for its location on Eagle Beach. We didn't feel the all-inclusive meal plan was for us this time. What a great place to stay!

From the newly remodeled lobby to the beautiful grounds to the update rooms - this is a great place to stay.

We asked for an ocean view room, which we got. We then realized, being on floor 2, that we were too close to the pool activity (there are children at this resort, unlike other all-inclusives we've previously visited, so plan accordingly. They were happy to move us up to the 6th floor immediately. Great customer service!

We tried the restaurants. We felt the breakfast buffet was a little costly and the choices were standard fare (eggs, waffles, cereal, yogurt, pastries, etc.) and chose to go off the property for places that offered full menu fare. Since we were very close to town, it was easy to go elsewhere when we chose to do so. If you walk up the beach a bit you'll find Scott's Brats (great lunch stand) and be sure to stop at the Pier Bar just a few steps up the beach as well.

The beach is the best in Aruba. There is always a chair (no need to get up hours early and save a spot) and the beach itself is beautiful, groomed, huge! We walked up to the other resorts to check them out and all of the others had smaller beaches that were extremely crowded. Again, glad we chose this place.

One day we rented a car (less than $40 for the whole day) talk to the car rental booth attendant in the hotel). We were able to see everything we wanted to see in one day with time to spare. Make sure to visit Baby Beach, The Natural Bridge, Oranjestad and, if you need food, there is a great supermarket a few miles from the hotel called Super Food and it is huge and the prices are reasonable.

All in all, we'd stay here again and recommend it to friends and family. Great value.

Room Tip: As for an ocean view or ocean front on a higher floor.

Stayed on the 6th floor in the Sea Tower...beautiful view and room. Check in was easy--thanks to Natasha, who exemplifies customer services. Only negative during the whole trip was Margot's poor attitude I saw displayed at check in towards other guests checking in. The grounds were beautiful, the pools were extremely clean. Didn't care for others "saving chairs" by placing towels around the pool by 7 am but didn't see them occuping them during the day. The bellman, John, was always smiling and very kind towards guests.
Took a 5 hour island tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Rocky, Jr. did an outstanding job as tour guide/driver. Went above & beyond snorkeling with all of us at Baby Beach. :)
Wishing I didn't have to leave....wonderful vacation.

We stayed the week of April 11-18, 2014 in the newly renovated Sea tower and it was great. My husband and I had a room on the bottom floor and my parents had a room, beside us but, were provided a room on the second level when they informed the front desk that the mini fridge was leaking, on entering the room immediately after check in. Before we could even move them up to the new room, a maintenance man was at the door and going in to fix the fridge.
The rooms, buildings and grounds were very clean and were always being cleaned when you looked around. The staff was friendly and helpful when we had questions or needed anything.
Check-in took about 20 minutes, which isn't a big deal, we were just excited to get settled.
The oceanside bar (mostly bar but has a full menu) and sea breezes (mostly high end evening restaurant but with a great bar) were both clean and had great food and drinks. Would highly recommend them. Also, be sure to hook up with bartender Edward, who works at both places, because he makes some mean drinks and his hospitality tops all others.
The views here are also wonderful and the hotel is so open, airy and welcoming.
We only reserved a palapa twice however it wasn't hard to get one and even on the day we came to the beach late without reserving one, we could easily find a bit of shade for the four of us to sit in.
Iguanas and lizards roam free all over the property, and the island for that matter, so keep that in mind if you aren't a fan of scaly reptiles. They were not a bother to us though as they usually just want a sunny rock to lay on or a palm tree to climb. They really have no interest in you or your belongings.
All in all, we loved it and look forward to returning and catching up with our favorite bartender and enjoying the beautiful beaches of Aruba.

I spent a week from April into May at this hotel with my boyfriend. We had an amazing time!! It was 90 and sunny every day! The hotel is located right on the beach which was nice because often the beach was too hot so we just came right back up to one of their two pools to sit under the umbrellas. There weren't too many kids running around and the few kids that were there were on the "kids side" of the pool so it wasn't too noisy. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We opted out of the all-inclusive option and instead decided to take a cab to the super mart down the street to buy groceries for the week. We spent $125 (the price of one nights dinner) on cold cuts, breakfast items (cereal milk and yogurt), fruit for the beach, snacks, gallons of water, and beers for the week. They all fit perfectly into our tall fridge in the room (which comes empty which is nice so you have space for everything). I recommend bringing a folding cooler or a hot/cold bag to store sandwiches and beers for the beach and we also brought big water bottles to fill in the lobby (there are giant water pitchers that you can help yourself to). For activities I recommend bringing or getting snorkles. The beach water was so clear (further down the beach) that you can see all the tropical fish and ocean life. It was awesome. We did the kukoo kanuko party bus (don't make the mistake of going on your last night!! It was super fun but calls for a big hangover). It stops at four bars and you get a complimentary shot at each place. It was really fun! The pirate ship booze cruise was awesome. We did the 9a-1p one. It takes you to three snorkeling sites, one of which is in the middle of the ocean and you jump in with snorkeling gear (provided) and you're right on top of this old ship that sunk in the 1930's. All of the tropical fish are swimming right around you. It was amazing! We also did a red sail sports catamaran tour along the coast one night. It was pretty but the appetizers/food were minimal and gross. It was nice to see the sunset though. There are PLENTY of bars along the beach to go to/happy hour at all of them. I was so glad that we stayed at this hotel (located near the hyatt/playa linda/marriott) because it was right in the middle of everything. One of our friends told us to stay at the divi or the renaissance but there were right at the very beginning of the beach strip and it was about a $20 cab ride away from where we were/all the activity. For restaurants I highly recommend El AGauchos (their steak is unreal and huge!) and Pinchos Bar and grill. We went to Amazonia (steak house) but it wasn't as good as I expected. We had a reservation for flying fishbone (dinner on the beach) then we found it was a $40 cab ride away so we cancelled that. All in all it was a perfect place to stay and we will definitely be back to visit!

We stayed April 8-14, 2014. The resort was quite empty the first four days which was fabulous! It got crowded the last three days but we never felt uncomfortable. Our new neighbors on night four were incredibly loud approaching 11pm - one quick call to the front desk and they were phoned, followed up by security, and we barely heard another peep the rest of our stay.

The grounds are beautiful. Everywhere you looked people were cleaning one thing or another. The beach is nice, we felt it was the best of all that we could walk to from there. There was security scattered about after sunset, which was reassuring, but we never felt unsafe.

As far as the palapa line - yes, we got a palapa each day with NO problem. Four days we wandered up after the 4:00 rush and got our first choice. Three days we lined up at 4:00 and waited less than 20 minutes. It wasn't a big deal for us at all. We never had a problem with towels, and they were happy to exchange them throughout the day as needed.

My only real complaint is people "claiming" spots at the pools by putting towels down and then it would sit EMPTY all day. I mean ALL day. Why not allow people present to use the chairs and umbrellas around the pools since they cannot be reserved like the palapas? I'm all for coming and going, but it felt selfish that people would claim chairs and umbrellas for the sake of doing it, and then not use them at all.

We stayed in tower seven (Sea Tower), closest to Moomba, on the top floor. Our room was great, very clean, and balcony was nice. Yes, we could hear the music from the neighboring property but it wasn't loud or annoying. There's really no "wave or water noise" from the Sea like in other locations, so we enjoyed the vibe. It did NOT keep us awake or affect our balcony enjoyment one bit. One elevator was closed the entire week and periodically one of the other two was closed at various times. We rarely waited more than a couple of minutes though.

If we return to Aruba we would stay here again. Check in and out was fine, some people are friendlier than others, but overall there was nothing that would prevent us from staying again.

We must say that we had been staying at the Holiday Inn for years, however the last few years started staying at the Westin. Since the Westin closed we decided to return to the Holiday Inn since they Renovated.
We were very pleased with everything the staff were wonderful!!! the rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.
We never did the A;ll-inclusive had the breakfast only. Breakfast was okay would have loved to have seen more of the super fruits, was great that on our last couple of days they has someone cooking your request for eggs. Which we do prefer.
We will return again next year to the Holiday Inn keep up the great work!!!!

Room Tip: We had higher floor partial ocean view was wonderful

We spent four days here with our 10 and 13 year old granddaughters and we had a great time! From the moment we arrived, Natasha welcomed us with a smile and great personalitly. As a Platinum member they really treat you right.

Lots to do here for the kids of all ages; tubing, parasailing, paddle-boarding, etc. And the food really is good at all the restaurants. But if you prefer there is a Tony Roma's, TGIF and others just across the street.

A very diverse tourist crowd primarily from South America and USA. Everyone on the island is very welcoming as well and the Holiday Inn does whatever it takes to make your trip enjoyable.

Room Tip: The renovation is over except for one elevator which is almost refurbished as well. All rooms have...
