“newly renovated clean rooms, nice owners.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

We stayed at the Boardwalk in a studio with a toddler. We were able to check in early without any problems and the owners/staff were very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly throughout our stay.

The room was clean, cozy, and the bathroom seems like it was recently renovated and clean. It felt a little small with our toddler, but then again it's a studio. If we come back and stay longer, we probably would reserve a 1 bedroom.

The hotel grounds are well kept, peaceful, and beautiful. It feels more like a vacation home, not a hotel.

We didn't cook much in the kitchen, but it was nice to have plates and other kitchen wares available since we bought fruits, bread, wine, cheese, juice, etc. for breakfast and snacks.

One thing that didn't meet our expectation was the proximity to the beach. We were under the impression that we would have to cross a road and the beach would be a couple of minutes of walk away. It was more like cross the road, walk down the road that's north of the Marriott hotel (which is the entire width of the Marriott hotel grounds..). The roads aren't exactly pedestrian friendly so you have to be careful, especially with a stroller. Yes, the hotel's website shows their exact location on google maps, but we somehow thought the hotel was closer to the beach.. as other reviewers gave us the impression that the hotel is closer to the beach than it really is.
So it was a good thing that we had rented a car. We drove to the beach after the first day.

All in all, we would definitely come back again, with the expectation that we would drive everywhere from the hotel. And that works for us.

Room Tip: If you are vacationing with toddlers, rent a car to get to the beach and restaurants from the hotel...

Dear SandD30,

Thank you for writing such a comprehensive and nice review of your stay in our one and only studio Casita at Boardwalk! We are very happy to hear you had an amazing stay with us.

We appreciate your feedback on sharing our location. We are indeed located across the street from Palm Beach, which is approximately 250 yards away. Often times our guests with young families prefer to rent a car to venture out to the beach. This way they can take all the beachtoys, buggy, etc. We are happy to hear you would chose Boardwalk for your next visit and look forward to you staying with us again!

Many sunny greetings from Aruba!

We stayed at the Boardwalk for 3 nights with our two young boys (4&5), and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Having stayed on Aruba many times, we were looking for an alternative to a hotel room, but didn't need a house of our own. This was the best of both worlds. The hotel is very convenient to the beach, shops, and larger hotels with restaurants. But what we liked most was that we could be a little bit at home with our own kitchen, living room, and beautiful bathroom. And all of this came with housekeeping! Our casita was spotless and well appointed, the pool was literally right outside our casita door, and I simply can't say enough about the owners and staff. Everyone was so welcoming and eager to help make our trip a pleasurable one. Thank you to Kimberley and Stephanie for exceeding our expectations at every opportunity! We will be back!!

Room Tip: The property is so unique that I think any casita or room would be charming. We liked being very cl...

April 2013: We loved our stay! We like to stay away from all the tourist areas and the Boardwalk certainly met our needs. The casita was extremely clean, tastefully decorated and had all the comforts of home. We loved the walk in shower and the daily fresh clean smell we arrived to at the end of our busy day! The charming staff was very honest about the island especially when it came to restaurants, which we truly appreciated especially since I am gluten free. We also made friends with the resident cats. The beach was just a short walk away. We also found close by many quiet beaches with fantastic snorkeling. The busy tourist area with all the restaurants, casinos and shops was also walking distance away. The casita provided us with a delightful escape and was so peacefully quiet that you easily forgot there were all those high rise hotels nearby. Each morning, we enjoyed a quiet breakfast in our private patio area. The Boardwalk is a very special place!

Room Tip: We had casita #1 and we enjoyed this location. It was away from the lobby and the pool.

It's a great place to stay, the sisters are very helpful and the staff too.
The room always very clean and they put some lemon essence, so when you walk in, after a hot day in the beach, you smell the lemon aroma and was like heaven. The location is great 3 minutes walk to the best beach (palm). Where you can find everything to do, restaurants and bars.
Near but not next door you find supermarket to by your groceries. But it's a tiny minimarket just around the corner.
The all experience was incredible. With my husband we're want to return on October, because the hotel and the island are unforgettable.
Can't wait

We only had one night here and we will definitely be back! Fortunately it was the night of the rum punch gathering and Stephanie whipped up some tasty appetizers to go with the punch. The recent remodeling with bright colors, modern decor and skillful tiling of the shower give a very Carribean, relaxing experience. Our casita was right off the pool with a barbecue and chairs to lounge in. Very quiet and private with the lush gardens. The beach is a close walk and you have your choice of going into the high rise hotel area with a free pass for beach chairs, restaurants/bars on the beach or stroll north of Palm Beach to a more remote site. Easy access for runners to go for a sunrise run north to the California Lighthouse past Malmok and Arashi Beach. Enjoy!

We have been searching the Internet for some while. We had almost booked a resort on the island but found this hotel fortunately. We believe it was the best choice; the accomodation was clean and nice between the palm trees very close to the beach. Having a BBQ on your own patio is possible too. Stephanie and Alice gave us very good tips regarding nice beaches, restaurants and things to do on the island. The personal touch by the crew is the best and you will never find this in the many resorts on the island. We will recommend this hotel to all visitors who like a luxury accomodation within a family style environment. Providing free of charge snorkel gear, beach chairs and coolbox is a good example of the boardwalk to think just further than the ordinary resorts. We will definitely return again, no doubt about it!

Room Tip: Have a look on the map on boardwalk website to choose the accomodation according to your wishes

Kimberly, Stephanie and Alice are very helpful, genuine and happy people. This gem of a hotel is creatively decorated -modern, very zippy, cool colours and is very clean. There is a great small pool nestled in a beautiful garden full of butterflies, birds and flowers. Boardwalk is quiet, private with friendly guests and staff. This resort is in the centre of the best beaches -Palm Beach is just a short walk. Highlights were Boca Catalina -best snorkelling, Boca Prins -wow, Screaming Eagle, Zeerover and Barefoot. This is a very happy place to stay!

Room Tip: Casita 11 is a great one bedroom!
