We just returned from a week in Aruba, 10/22/05 -10/29/05. After reading some of the reviews for this resort I was somewhat prepared not to like it. It is a moderate resort, and yes, there are not any amenities but, and this is a big but, it had daily maid service . At time shares, maid service is always once a week. The unit was a one bedroom and was very clean, more then ample towels, had two full bathrooms and although not fancy, everything was in good condition. The beach is across the street and it is pretty much a private beach. The distance between LaQuinta's beach(Eagle) and the next hotels on both sides leaves lots and lots of room. There is a small restaurant on site (for drinks, lunch and dinner) which was OK. The resort is very conveniently located from the airport and pretty much any place you go along the coast. We would not hesitate to go back there.
3 wks in room 2307 was a dream, VERY LARGE, TWO STORY, Three bedroom three bathrooms with two circular jacuzzi tubs. Daily maid service that makes the bed, cleans bathrooms, kitchen, living room from top to floors, replaces linen with a smile. Very nice, quiet, laid back vacation but you can sign up in the office for tours and be a busy as you want. YOU DECIDE! Eagle Beach is not crowded like the other beaches and the white sand and aqua blue is breathtaking. The large sea turtles lay their eggs at Eagle Beach. They know the best beach too! L.Q.Owners keep going back each year, it is like family. Don't tell too many people... I don't want it to get crowded! I have bought so many weeks there that I can't use them all! Would you believe 20 weeks in Aruba!? Yes, I rent some.I like it better than Hawaii!

I actually won my week at LaQuinta at a casino night. One of the owners had donated his week as a prize for the top prize winners. I was quite excited about a trip to Aruba, being only responsible for my airfare. I asked numerous people, who had been to Aruba, if they knew of LaQuinta and no one had. I was worried about what the resort was going to be like and was truly a little disappointed as I am someone that loves the big glitzy hotels on the beach. As the LaQuinta is an older, low-rise,and across the street from the beach, it wasn't quite what I expected. When entering our room, however, it was very nice and newly redone. As our week unfolded, we fell in love with Aruba and LaQuinta! The employees couldn't do enough for you! The owners that were vacationing there were all very friendly. Mid week, we felt so at home and began to love the LaQuinta. Granted it is not one of the larger hotels on the beach with all activities present, but you actually start to feel like a local and this is your "home". LaQuinta is right across from Eagle Beach which is rated one of the top three beaches in the world. You are far away from the craziness of the high-rises and you can enjoy the sunsets and relaxing at the pool. If you want things to do, there is plenty to do on Aruba and the LaQuinta is located conveniently between the high-rise hotels and the main town. There is a pool bar which I have to say was modestly priced for the excellent and fresh food they served, not to mention the BEST drinks! We ended going there almost every day just for their spicey crab salad! Irwin, who runs the bar gives you the best service and his parrots entertain you while you enjoy the great drinks! I must say that we said we would NEVER own a timeshare under any circumstances, however as we were checking out on Saturday, we were signing papers to purchase one at LaQuinta! I actually cried as we left, feeling like I was leaving home! I can't wait to return to our "home in Aruba" next year! We liked it so much that we aren't even tempted to trade for another location! LaQuinta is truly a hidden secret!

Stayed at La Quinta in week 34, 2005, in a small one bed room unit in phase 1 (room 103). If you set value on cleanliness, quietness and a first class beach, then go there. There was always a hutch and sun loungers available at the beach (Eagle beach is one of the best). The beach is across the street, you can see it from your room if you are in phase 1.
You have to pay $ 20 upfront as deposit to support the pool bar and eat there. We used it on our first day and went back to the pool bar for 3 times more. It is just great. There was maid service every day. The pools are very clean too, but not too much chlorine. There is no jacuzzi or an restaurant. It is great for people who know what to do in Aruba.
If you want to be entertained go somewhere else.
