Most of my review is positive.
The buffet foods is very good, with lots of different choices.
The steak house was awesome, the surf and turf was the way to go. The Italian restaurant was just ok, the stuffed chicken was pretty good. Making r.s.v.p for the specialty resturants was a
breeze. Be sure to get in line about 8:50 am. They start at 9.
The hotel it's self is very clean, the hotel staff was cleaning
and re-stocking the toilet tissue, and everything else.
The pool is very clean as well.
I saw staff checking the water chemicals several times a day.
The room maid was excellent, the room was cleaned everyday. Always clean towels and she would give you extra when asked. The refrigerator was stocked daily with beer, water,
and cola.
Now the negative:
I woke up at 5:00 am on my second day at the RIU to place my towels under a palapa on the beach. I went in for breakast to
find that my stuff was missing and someone else was there.I confronted the guy and he said that since I wasn't there he took my palapa. I asked where my towels where and he told me that it wasn't his responsiblty to watch them. He is the one that moved them. So the next day I went down to the beach agian at 5 am. I put my stuff under another palapa. I came back to put
some stuff under the palapa, and when I got there my stuff was gone. I went the the pool staff to inquire about my missing things and was told that they know nothing about it. I was told by a couple of people that they actually saw one of the staff move my stuff and hide it under so stacked up cots. I never did find my blanket. I think that it was rude of the staff to move stuff.
So needless to say the next couple of days I satyed on guard duty at my palapa until some else in my group could spell me out.
Oh do not expect to get a cot before 7:00 am on the beach. They will NOT let you have one. Go figure.
