“Great Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Love this place. The room was great and the staff was quite helpful. A beach view really means a great view of the beach ... And it's a gorgeous beach with beautiful soft sand and clear turquoise water. The room was close enough to lay out on the beach and run back if you forgot something. My only complaint and the reason this property did not receive five stars was a mysterious 15% surcharge on food and beverages. This charge was NOT considered the tip. I asked several waitstaff for an explanation and received several different explanations. My favorite, and possibly the worst, was "it's in case a guest breaks any of the dishes." Huh? But other than that, this is a great place to stay and I look forward to coming back and enjoying a relaxing four day weekend.

Room Tip: I did as suggested by other reviewers and asked for a second floor balcony room. It was perfect.

Thank you for your review and feedback. Glad you enjoyed the beautiful beach and turquoise blue Caribbean Sea. I would like to demystify the the 15% surcharge on your restaurant and bar bills. The 15% is a service charge charged customary by most restaurants on the island on top of the restaurant and bar bill. The service charge is divided by the resort among the waiters, bar staff and kitchen staff and represents thus a substantial part of their daily/monthly income. If guests like they can leave an additional tip for exemplary service at their sole discretion. I apologize that this was not explained correctly.

This is by far the best beach in Aruba and a beautiful resort. This is a resort to relax and enjoy the one you want to be with. I don't recommend this resort to those looking for a loud party spot. The rooms are traditional hotel rooms, but they are appointed with high end features.

I recently stayed at the Manchebo Beach resort for a week in August 2013. I was torn between booking a hotel in the high-rise section vs the low-rise section. I am so glad we went with Manchebo. The hotel is located in the low-rise section and is right on the beach. The staff is so helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed having full food/drink service on the beach as well as the daily happy hour from 5-7. The room (king size bed) was very clean and enough room for two people. It even had a small balcony. If you are looking for a quiet, clean hotel with direct access to the beach, then I highly recommend staying here. The food at both restaurants was great. There are also plenty of umbrellas/chairs, so you do not have to worry about rushing to get to the beach in the morning.

We have been to Aruba before, but not at this property. It is small (70 rooms), but has everything that you need to relax and enjoy. White sand beach, pool, a great spa, etc. just steps away from your room. In the immediate walking area is a casino, outdoor pizza cafe, food market, donuts, and more. The staff was attentive and we had a great time. We would happily return.

Room Tip: End rooms by the outside stairs and walkway can be noisy. Ask for a room away from this location.

The hotel is located in the most beautiful beach you can imagine! Is like sleeping on the beach just some steps away from the sea! The staff is very, very friendly and they do everything the pleasant you! They allways have a great smile. Pega Pega at lunch is a good spot! Nice light dishes. Try the mojitos!
The breakfast was very good, but try to offer fresh squezzed juices!
The room, we had a suite, is great. The hotel is small and this is a must!

This is my first hotel review but having just returned last night, I am happy to share our fantastic seven night experience! We were warmly welcomed with cold scented towels and mojitos! A beautiful, contemporary, very clean & very cool room with the most gorgeous view of the blue Caribbean Sea! Above all of the amenities Manchebo offers, in all of my travels (over 15 countries) the extremely thoughtful staff was by far the most professional and friendly group of people I have ever met in any hotel stay. Michael in Security will welcome you personally, show you to your room and look out for you your entire stay. Alejandra will bring you drinks on the beach with a smile. The entire smiling front desk, restaurant and gift shop staff will remember you and ask about your stay at Manchebo as well as Aruba. We relied on the other reviews in choosing a hotel in Aruba, many which said that the staff was like a family and that guests return here year after year--and we most definitely experienced it first hand. We enjoyed every minute and felt very safe and at home there at Manchebo. They staff went out of their way to quietly ensure that our stay was happy. The rooms are top notch--we were pleasantly surprised at the high quality furniture, gorgeous, modern bathroom, strong and quiet air conditioning, and large in-room electronic safe to hold our passports and laptop! We walked Eagle Beach and Palm Beach and saw many other beachfront hotels. There is no comparison to the quiet, and much more private, wide Eagle Beach location. We highly recommend Manchebo for so many reasons and would never stay anywhere else! Thank you Manchebo for a wonderful family retreat!

Room Tip: Room #3 was excellent! Ground floor with great view and beach access.

My friend Barb just returned and had a wonderful time, and it reminded me I forgot to review...I think we've been to Manchebo every year for 7 or 8 years, and it's our favorite vacation spot anywhere. We usually go in April, but the weather is nearly perfect every day of the year. The staff is wonderful, remember you and treat you like family! Harold, Fanny and Nacio are the best!! Rooms were redone a couple of years ago and are gorgeous. The French Steakhouse is one of the best restaurants on the island (due to the service from Harold as well as the food) and Ike's is great. If the advertisements show Giorgio's as a restaurant at Manchebo, it is now Ike's and it's even better! The casual lunch fare is really delicious, too. The beach cannot be beat, but it's really the staff that make it so great. Can't wait to go again!

Room Tip: We like to be in the gardenview as the birds in the morning are so nice to wake up to. But there ar...
