“Very nice resort and excellent staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

We were at this resort the last week of November 2012. We truly appreciated the staff at Manchebo. Michelle at the reception desk gave us an excellent first impression. Carlos at the beach is also worth mentioning: he's very friendly and helpful, frequently stopping by our palapa to enquire about our wellbeing. The beach is gorgeous and there was plenty of palapas available. The room was clean, and well equipped with refrigerator and microwave. The double shower is well appreciated. The two restaurants (Ike Bistro and French Steakhouse) weren't bad, but not great either. Ike Bistro was way overpriced for such simple cooking. A few steps away is a good alternative: Ellioti Italian restaurant serving a really excellent seafood soup, escargots and a fairly extensive list of fish dishes (we tried 3 different dishes, all excellent). This resort location is great, with both Palm Beach and Oranjestad not far away. Within walking distance (over 0.5 mi or 1 km) is a large supermarket complex (Kong Hing and Ling&Sons). We prefer Ling & Sons which carried great snacks such as choucroute garnie, pate, foie gras, meat filled turnovers, etc. There are many restaurants there. We did try The Promenade: very decent food at very decent prices and great service.

Appreciate your feedback and thank you for your nice comments. Agree we have an excellent staff taking care of our resort guests. In fact this week we will be having our annual Christmas Employees Party where we will place many of our excellent associates into the spotlight for doing such a wonderful job. Of course we will be enjoying great food, drinks and some excellent Caribbean music.

This is a great place for couples, very quiet, no kids and a SUPER beach. Its not at a waking distance to the High Rise (Commercial Zone, Restaurants, Malls, Populated Beaches) but near enough to go by cab, $9 USD one way..... Everything is at least $9 in Aruba anyways, hahaha.

The Beach is the best, the pool is not that bad but we rather hanged out on the sand.

They will provide you with a small but usefull icebox at your room so you may take 4 beers to the beach. Make sure you buy your own beer or wine, drinks are super expensive, Cabo seems cheap next to Aruba.

The food was nice too, althou we only had 1 lunch at the hotel the whole time. The bathroom was well upgrated and nice. They had a nice "Welcoming" with 2 Mojitos for us (the ones best I have tasted).

Room Tip: Buy your own drinks when possible, you will save a few bucks. Also pass by a mini market for a few s...

Thank you for your kind review and we are happy to see you enjoyed our intimate beach resort. We thought so too that you would appreciate a great mojito (or the virgin version) upon arrival and glad to see our bar staff serves one of the best ones. Try out the passion fruit mojito on your next trip - personally my favorite. See you back next time.

Well I have never written a review before, but after my stay I feel compelled to. First of all, this was a honeymoon trip, with our 3 year old son. It was the first trip we have taken as a family. It started out pretty bad as our flight got delayed and we ended up not being able to fly out and arrive on Monday. I called the Manchebo, and told them we would not be arriving and we would like to stay an extra day to Sunday. The woman on the phone informed me that we could stay, but we might have to change rooms on Saturday. She said we could figure it all out when we got down there on Tuesday. When we arrived, I was informed that we could stay an extra day AT NO CHARGE! On top of that we didn't have to change rooms!
When we got to our room, it was a little smaller than expected but in the end it didn't matter all that much since we spent very little time in the room. The room looked recently updated and the bathroom was modern with a rainfall shower head, modern looking sink etc... My son absolutely loved the rainfall shower! We couldn't get him out of it!
The next thing we noticed was that the staff was outstanding. They went above and beyond. They would bring treats for our son (who was being a typically cranky 3 year old at times), joke with him and they were generally extremely accommodating.
The beach was very nice and the thatched "umbrellas" were spaced far apart so you felt like you had the beach to yourself. We never had a hard time getting a spot.
We will be back!

Room Tip: Get the beach view, its worth it.

My sister and I went to the spa after hearing about the services from a friend. We had the after sun package treatment and it was wonderful. The staff was helpful when helping us choose a package since we were newbies. They were very professional, and the cabanas are a must!. the spa was simple and gave a great feel of the being on the beach and serenity. I had a wrap, facial and massage under $250. The prices are great and the staff is very friendly. This spa is also the only spa in aruba that offers a foot treatment you have to try to believe. This women has a tank with garra rufa fish and they eat the dead skin off your feet its amazing!!! A must try!! the local restaurant is good and decently priced I would recommend the beach its clean and not rocky . They were painting when we left and I can't wait to go back and see the update.

Great to hear that you enjoyed our spa. It is indeed a wonderful experience when you have your spa treatment at one of the beach cabanas overlooking the turquoise blue Caribbean Sea. Besides the relaxing, shiatsu, hot stone and aroma therapy massages the spa also offer a variety of body scrubs and wraps, facials, manicure and pedicure. To complete the rejuvenation experience enjoy our yoga and Pilates classes at the beach-side pavilion.

Really nice place. Doesn't look like much from the road, but the facility has great beach and the rooms are comfortable and quiet. We would definitely consider a return visit. Definitely liked being away from the highrise hotels and traffic. Restaurant dinner food was very good. Breakfast was grossly overpriced. Front desk staff was great!

Room Tip: Our room faced the beach, but it was back far enough to give a good view without being privy to what...

Great beach - hard to imagine something better. Service is friendly, rooms are fine. Had the all-inclusive option - would say the food and drinks were average. It all comes fast, but the quality isn't anything super (that said, it was fine). If you go all-inclusive, you will probably get your money's worth. I think the more important point here is that the beach is great. I would go back.

Just returned from 10 days on the most beautiful beach in Aruba, clean white sand, easy to get into the ocean to jump the waves, plenty of space to relax and suntan, a perfect spot for fun and relaxation. The hotel is small and quaint, many updates in the rooms and on the property. The staff is eager to please...special mention..Diana, one of the waitress's, we were greeted each morning with a warm welcome, the daily newspaper and our coffee, always smiling and very pleasant. Carlos always with a big smile and hello, finding us the perfect beach spot for the chairs last but not least Victor, a smile as big as his personality.
We come for the beach, we return because of the service, we feel very comfortable there.
We will return next year..Thank you Manchebo for a wonderful vacation.

Room Tip: The hotel is small, all rooms are very cloce to the beach and restaurants..just feet away.
